Default Calling all OC off shore boaters. Fleet group interest.

Alright boys.

Looking to put together a small fishing fleet group together based out of OC.

This includes Huntington, Long Beah, Newport and Dana Point.

Me and some buddies use to have a pretty good fleet of 4 boats small center consoles we use to mob out to spots with. But some of them have put fishing off or sold their boats all together.

The main purpose of going out as a fleet is to get as many boats and anglers out as possible and work together to get every on a fat bite.

The advantages of sticking it out as a fleet is to work like the big cattle boats do. It allows us to spread out and scan for bigger and better bites to call to the rest of the fleet.

Also allows a big aspect of safety. If any of our guys go down or break down. Instead of calling out an expensive sea tow we can work together and bring them back to the harbor. Usually a nice Casanova of beers is bartered for payment.

Most of all, getting s fun cool group of guys n gals out for a good time. Stick together, spread out, hard core fish or just leasure. Share and make new stories and share personal hot spots or gems, maybe even lean more. Power in numbers!

Anyhing open, we can plan trips to go out

Like I said me and my buddies use to do this with buddies back in the day in high school. This worked out really well and the last few seasons some of them had to hang their capt hats.

No major boat requirements, john boats, Center Consoles, Pleasure Cruisers, Luxury boats. Just as long you’re out there to fish. You’re good.

So this is a sound off for interest in a OC fleet group going. Main targets is off the Ports, Catslina, oil rigs, any where. Depending on how successful this is we could even plan trips below the boarder or up north. It’s what you make it. We don’t expect this to blow up out if he gate, but I’m sure over time this could become a solid tight bitched little community.

Any interest? Sound off!

Like the idea...I’m looking for a boat now. I came out here from the east coast where there are many options for good used boats lol. The used boat market is brutal out here. Not many options

I'm over in AZ but plan on dragging my 25' express cruiser out more often and sharpening up my YT/WSB/Calico skills. Planning a mid july trip Catalina trip with the Fam right now, looking to put the first YT on this boat solo (plenty of experience fishing on sportboats).

Anyway, would be up for joining occasionally if the timing works, and you'll have me along.

Feel free to add me to the list you send out when heading out and I'll join when I can. My boat's in San Pedro but I fish in the same areas you do.

I would love to join the group. I have a 42' twin diesel aft cabin trawler at a slip in Long Beach. I don't have much salt water fishing experience yet but am a competent boater.

Awesome! See attached for pic... she's a slow mover (8 knots @ WOT) but has plenty of elbow room for casting. Have live bait tank & fish finder, although the FF is a little glitchy.

I'm interested. I have a 23' walk around boat. I usually launch from Long Beach Queen Mary or Cabrillo. My boat is being repaired, but it should be up in a couple of weeks. Now, what's next?

It seems that only you and I are the last ones who are still interested in a convoy. Lol.

It's been through summer and no activities here. The water is still cold. Maybe we can go in mid April.

I heard Dana Point is reducing its ramp size, and might be difficult to launch there. What's MB? I typically launch out of Long Beach Queen Mary.

MB is Mission Bay down in Sa Diego.

Yes DP has reduced their parking facility less than 1/2 what it used to be. They are building parking structures for all the crowds yet screwed the boaters. Ugh.

I may just get a slipped in DP. We’ll see.
