Depending on the amount of time...
Go to the Rose Parade, Pinks Hot Dogs, Lawry’s Prime Rib, Melrose shopping, Santa Monica 3rd Street, Newport Beach and if time spend a couple days in San Diego (Legoland, Zoo, Del Mar, Downtown Gaslamp).

+1 for Pinks and a vote for Phillipes, home of the French Dipped sandwich. Olvera street is kind of nice - like going to Mexico without the risk. Personally I would stay away from Disney, Knotts, Sea World, etc; just too crowded and very expensive. If you like art there is the Norton Simon Museum.

Get down to San Diego on a 1/2 day boat (Dolphin, Daily Double, Premier) and get in on the rare yellowtail bite.

Maybe pick this place up while you are out there. Just under a half million and it looks like squatters live there.

I am in Los Angeles all the time.

All I think about is if there was anyone out there with a decent rig who wants to deep Drop for swords. I will bring the rod, reel, gear.. split gas and anything else.

I'm doing a repower now and know nothing about swordfish but really want to learn it. Out here nobody seems to know how to target them.

My boat is slipped in San Diego (it's 125 miles from LA). Boat is a Phoenix 29 diesel.

Let's keep in touch if you're interested

Same here for traffic. We went down the car pool lanes the whole time. It was pretty awesome to be flying by people at 80 and they were dead stopped.
