Default Oahu Anglers

Aloha,

I just got stationed on the island and am looking for a little local guidance before I start trolling these sacred waters. I have a 23' AquaSport center console and plenty of trolling gear from growing up fishing off the coast of Florida. I plan to troll ballyhoo and want to look for Ono and Mahi Mahi (I need to upgrade my tackle before targeting the big Ahi). I will be primarily going out of Kaneohe Bay, as that's where my boat is kept. Can any of you provide me with general advice/things to be aware of to keep me out of trouble? I am used to fishing along contour lines, significant tidal rips, weed lines, temp changes, etc...what's different out here? Mahalo for the advice in advance!

Alex

Alex,
Feel free to message me if you'd like, not that I can tell you anything, as well I'd recommend go to Bloody Decks Hawaii Section.

Link.
