I recently purchased a Cutwater 28. The maiden voyage took me from Long Beach to Santa Barbara via Catalina. On the 2nd leg we passed through the Anacapa Passage with 30 knot plus winds short-interval 10' swell. The boat handled it like a dream. No disrespect to posters above questioning the boat's ability to handle rough water, but they are flat-out wrong...

Awesome Info and what a beautiful yellow tail. What was your experience like with the sales folks? Have they been more than helpful with questions or any issues that you've had?

New Cutwater 26 owner here. Not really impressed with engine performance. Definitely slower than cruiser style boat, and that's ok. But if I push the engine to maximum, I get an engine overheat alarm in about three minutes.

I realize this post is several months old but I'm wondering how you like the boat after another summer's use? How is the fuel economy and what engine do you have? Not fond of Volvo engines and not sure why the switched from Yanmars.

I've looked these boats over at the boat show and they have a lot going for them. Maybe a bit more bling than I hoped for but very nice.

Also, I'd be interested in what the OP ended up with.
I have a 260 Express Shamrock that I like, but a bit more room when cruising and some more creature comforts for the Admiral would be nice. I use it in the same neck of the woods so your input would be valid for me.
