Default San Diego fishing & what to do's

I'm headed to San Diego, next week, for a week, and staying at the hotel del coronado. Whats the fishing like this time of the year? Is it worth a trip offshore, or just find something else to do? Im arriving on Monday for a work meeting and then the wifes flying out on Thursday. SHe's never been to the west coast. What are the must see's and must do's while there until Monday, even if we dont get to fish?

Thanks

Current fishing report - small football BFT (12-18) at 47 miles, but weather has been sloppy. A few must do's - Cabrillo National Monument for the views of the city, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Safari Park (aka Wild Animal Park), Balboa Park (museums of all types - check them out). From the "Del" get yourself over to the ferry landing and cruise across San Diego Bay to downtown San Diego. Walk around and check out the Midway (aircraft carrier), The Fish Market restaurant, Star of India, Hornblower dinner cruises. I could go on and on. You won't be bored.

Another off fishing year so far. Water is back to cold, so hit some of the suggestions above.

Seaforth Landing, H&M Landing and a few others have good fish reports so you can see what is going on. Rockfish means the wasn't anything better going on...

A couple of stable days could make a 3/4 day boat worth it really quick.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. Looks like I'll pass on the fishing.

Welcome to paradise, have fun, the Hotel Del Coronado is a experience by it self, there is a lot to do in San Diego, try to get a dinner/harbor cruise, take a walk in one of the many marinas and note how different West Coast boats are rigged.

All are great sugestions. The Midway is cool. If you want to get out of the city. Are ride up to Julian is cool. The local mountains about a hour and half from the Del. I grew up in this smal town. Beautiful countryside..................Mike

Our favorite in San Diego for many years was Seaforth Landing, call em for a fish report.
