Headed to Cabo for Christmas, 2013. Well actually, the week prior to cmas. I fished Cabo in early Oct back in 2006 w El Budster. We boated 40-50 schooly tuna (20-30lbs) over 2 days freespooling live bait near San Jose del Cabo. We had a great time and brought back a ton of fish.

Im planning to book another 2 days and was curious about other recommendations. The El Budster experience was great, but they didnt have to work very hard, so Im not sure how theyll perform on a tougher day. At the time, They were upfront w me sayin the marlin bite wasnt happenin, and i spoke to the guys on one of their other boats confirmed as much. So we went for the food fish (tuna) instead.

Any other charters in the $450 range that others recommend? Im thinkin full day. El Budster is $435 ish plus or minus bait/licenses.

Ps if anyone else is gonna be down there Dec 18-25, 2013 and wants to split a trip, Im all ears, too!

Hotels wise, I stayed at Siesta Suites the last time there. Around $70/night, maybe 2 blocks from the marina, cant go wrong. Small pool and a restaurant on site (Italian?)

Another w high reviews / scores on Tripadvisor is the Bungalows hotel/place a little up the hill from Siesta Suites. Great reviews but twice the price and up from there. Plus a longer walk to the marina an other attractions. Considered that strongly before settling on Bahia.

This year my wife and I are planning to stay in the Bahia Hotel & Beach Club, because its a couple blocks from Medano Beach and a few blocks from the marina. Also, pool area is larger w swim up bar (than Siesta Suites).

I would totally stay at Siesta Suites again, esp if I was gonna save my money for fishin. Its a really convenient location, well run, and clean. This time Im leanin more toward the wifes comfort and closer to beach.

Theres a ton of hotels and resorts between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Many of them are higher end.

Thanks for the info! I am also bringing my lady so I have to keep her in mind when picking a place to stay.

I had planned to go there last year but a new electronics package on the boat put a dent on my wallet .

This year I am going to make the trip happen!

The trips on for mid January!

Anyone else going to be their who is interested in a split charter let me know.

Unfortunately Dream Weaver was booked but the guy was super cool and took the time to exchange a dozen or so emails with information and found me another boat.

Drop me a pm . I just had my boat delivered and will be fishing almost everyday in Jan out of San Jose. Help cover some gas and bait and you're ready to go.
