i searched around online and this site and haven't seen any recent threads specific to the west coast so wanted to see if anyone has any new info.
i'm shopping around for a 200HP repower for either a mercury or suzuki. so far was quoted 2.5 months for mercury 200HP and 3 months for 200HP suzukis. i called around a bunch of places and that was the best estimate anyone was willing to give me. i'm never sure how accurate the dealer timeframe quotes are as i'm always a little suspect their goal with locking up a sale may conflict with real delivery times.
does anyone have any recent intel or experience with delivery times for mercs or zukes? i'm in socal.
thanks!

I can't say we are talking apples to apples, but I was in the market for a new outboard last Fall for my dinghy. I was hearing the same estimates with low production coming out of Asia. I ended up on a waiting list with OnlineOutboards.com and finally received my Suzuki 15hp back in early December. I got it about a month earlier than the local shops estimated. Looking at their site again, OnlineOutboards is out of stock of almost everything except for Honda.

My experience has been horrible with Suzuki as I ordered my twin 150AP Digital and controls back on Nov 15th. I call my dealer every week and am still waiting with no delivery date provided by Suzuki America as of today.
The funny part is they delivered one of the engines to the dealer a month ago but the second engine is no where to be found. They should of allocated the single engine to another waiting customer as I have no use for 1 Engine so it is just sitting.
it’s been very frustrating as all I hear about is how Suzuki shipped them but can not control the Cargo Ships, Ports, and Customs and they will not allocate the motor until it clears customs. The will not even confirm if it left Japan.
over all I have lost faith in Suzuki before I even owned one.
Yamaha is 100% in the same place as they wanted me to jump ship on the Suzuki’s but could not give me a delivery date either.
Suzuki needs to up there game and communicate with there customers instead of putting their heads in the sand.

I got twin 200 Suzuki’s installed on my boat in late December from blackpoint marine in the Portland area. It was a 2.5 month lead time. First 2 months were no word as Suzuki’s allocation process is a bit of a mystery, but once they made it off the ship and cleared customs and were allocated things went smoothly and I have been very happy with them.
