Question Looking to Repower my 2005 BW 305 Conquest in SoCal

All,

Looking at replacing my 250HP Verado's on my 2005 Boston Whaler 305 Conquest. These are the original motors.

Talking with Maurer Marine for a bid. Has anyone else gone through this in SoCal? I am leaning toward keeping my Mercury's. Has anyone used Maurer's?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I wasn't happy with the quality of the bids I got from Mauer (for Suzuki and Yamaha). They were rushed and incomplete. I didn't end up using them.

Try WOT Marine in Vista for a Mercury quote. I haven't used them but have heard good things.

Also, go ask this question on bdoutdoors . com - you'll get much more locals responding.

I have used Mauer Marine for a repower for one of my past boats and service and repair for several of my boats in the past. Family run, very honest and good work.

We just went through repowering 2007 Verado 275's. Stuck with Merc thinking we could reuse some of the rigging. Ended up replacing everything due to connectively issues.

Doesn’t surprise me. I can’t think of any boat repair or project that didn’t cost more or take more time and effort then I thought it would.

Hello! I have spoken with Craig before about getting work done on my boat. He politely declined and recommended another group. I ended up going with RJ Nautical out of Carson. They picked up my boat, did amazing work and dropped it back off ahead of schedule. GREAT group of people.
Give them a call and ask for Josh Casey, the owner. His number is 844-777-8008 ext 702
Tell him Freddy with the Everglades and Yamaha 300 referred you. Really fair people and the only Yamaha Master Tech in Southern Cali. Feel free to hit me up with any more questions as well.

Good luck!

There's a guy on Bloody Decks selling a pair of used Verado 275s, I think a little over 1000 hours with new lowers. May want to check that out. In the Boats for Sale classifieds.
