New Boat Owner in Need of Perspective

Good evening everyone. I recently purchased a 2007 Fountain 38lx with 500 hours on the trip Mercury Verado 275s. I am wondering if anyone has owned one and has any tips or pointers on what to expect. I come from an extensive background of freshwater boating, but this is the first jump into ocean boating.

Also, I was told that I need to start the engines once a week because the boat is kept in a slip in Newport Beach harbor. Does anyone know if this is accurate or if this is too cautious?

Thank you all for your consideration!

Too cautious,
I go months without starting my outboard

If you use your boat less than weekly you should keep it in a dry stack. If you use it less than monthly you should keep it on a trailer. If you use it less than quarterly you should sell it.
