Default 11/4 New Lo Ann tuna report. Excellent fishing. 115 big tuna.

I just got back from and amazing 2.5 day trip on the New Lo Ann out of San Diego.

Great boat, crew, fishing, and food.

The first day was decent but not lights out as it took us awhile to find them

The second day was amazing, a 9 hour bait stop that put around 100 30-55lb YFT and BFT on the deck for 17 rods, most of us had never fished for either before, so the numbers could have been better.

If you want big tuna (we lost one over 300) on a great boat with a great crew, these guys are it.

I think we paid $14K for the whole boat (up to 22, but we had 17), but I have to look at my CC statement to make sure.

Rates are here: https://www.newloansportfishing.com/charterrates.php

It was way cheaper than it would have cost me to do on my own boat, especially when you figure in the $2K or so they spent on live bait.

I had planned on bringing my boat down and giving the SD tuna fishing a shot, but there is no way my 120 gallon bait tank can compete with their MASSIVE bait tank.

They had one guy whose job was to chum and he kept the fish up for almost an entire day by throwing bait all day long.

Sounds like a great trip! good boat that has been around for years, apparently a good captain too.

I just got a text from a buddy that the New Lo Ann plugged the boat the first day, offloaded, and headed back out for the second day of the trip.

WOW.
