Lightbulb Boating Courses Near Dana Point, CA?

Hey all - I'd like to find a good boating course to be safer going offshore.
Google Search results are all over the place.
I'm near Dana Point CA. No need to get a Captain's license. Just general safety, water and boat knowledge.

Thanks,
David

The Maritime Institute in San Diego, (now called Training Resources Maritime Institute) use to offer recreational/personalized boater safety courses, not sure if they still do. (they also did Captains Licenses courses) The other place that is closer but I don't know anything about is Orange Coast College. Check out OCC Sailing they have a campus in Newport and offer classes primarily for blow boaters but I think they also have some basic/general classes.

Whatever you do, attend a classroom session. Here's one that's coming up for you in Dana Point.

I remember seeing a boating school on PCH in Newport Beach, where it's across the Lamborghini Ferrari McLaren car dealer. It's on the sea side. I can't be sure of the exact location, so maybe you can pass by that area and check them out.
Maybe this is what I saw: https://www.newportcoastmarine.com/boat-school-courses/
The prices are not cheap.

I can vouch for OCC having general boating classes, or atleast they did back when I went there
