I sent you a PM with the picture of the bubble in the piece. The hotter it gets, the bigger it is. 8 inch by 8 inch bubble that raises up over an inch when hot.

I'll look it up and see what I can do.

interesting to see big boat manufacturers using seadek instead of real wood a sign of the times

Much easier maintenance, less of it, and when it finally goes to hell it's cheaper and easier to replace.

The boys from Castaway just handled a warranty claim for me that SeaDek denied due to light amplification. In addition to replacing the damaged pieces, they installed two strips to prevent the amplification going forward. It was a no drama issue with Castaway.

How did the Mica over Cool Gray work out for you? I'm about to have SeaDek put on my Pathfinder 2200 TRS and this thread has me rethinking my decision. Was going to go with Storm Gray over Cool Gray, but have pretty much changed my mind on that because of the heat issue. After having it in the boat, would you still go with the embossed over the brushed (which brushed is what I was considering). Any thoughts/wisdom would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure who you are responding to, but I went with the brown camo. It looks like cork to me. We chose the camo to hide dirt. It's like a restaurant carpet;. You could barf on it and no one would know.

Not the guy you ask the question to but you should have no problem with that color combo. Go brushed the embossed wears down in high traffic areas the brushed doesnt.

Hey … was responding to the OP who had his original SeaDek (after they apparently saw this thread) with the Mico over Cool Gray. I've got a Pathfinder 2200TRS and was considering Storm Gray over Cool Gray, but this thread kind of steered me away from that. Was looking for color suggestions for Pathfinder's "Lauderdale Blue" boat color (see pics in my album).

Hey Everyone- I received a couple PMs on this and figured Iíd post an update for everyone. Overall Iím still happy with the Seadek. The lighter color doesnít have the issues of warping like the darker colors did. Thereís a trade off because the lighter colors show dirt much more than the darker colors but Iím alright with it. The other question was brushed vs embossed and my experience was the brushed finish looked very worn after a few months which is why I went with embossed when Seadek changed it out for me.

Thanks,
Chris

Interesting, because the other member a few post up recommended the opposite, stated that the brushed last longer than embossed.

castawaychris delivered and I received my replacement piece. Not sure how he pulled it off, or if he personally replaced a warranty issue that the Sea Dek factory and Sea Ray should have replaced. But, he did deliver somehow.
Stand up guy for sure. If you need Sea Dek I recommend you reach out to them first to see if they can help you.
