The $9,300 saved plus the interest, and cheaper maintenance + cheaper fuel more than make up for the worse fuel economy compared to Cummins.

We are an off road family. We have Jeeps, side by sides, we camp, hunt, trail ride, etc... so, this truck fit us to a tee. The mile per gallon issue never came up. My wife said "If I wanted fuel economy, I would buy a Prius, not a HD 2500 Power Wagon."

My 3500 with the 6.7L Cummins got better mileage, but the maintenance costs outweighed the fuel difference in yearly maintenance costs. Sure, I could have bought a Laramie Longhorn 2500 4x4 with the 6.7L Cummins, lifted it, put tires on it, had it re-geared and added lockers, but it would be seriously heavy, especially in the front end. Still would not be as capable "off road" than this Power Wagon. This 6.4L Hemi has tons of go in it. We are adding a cold air induction and some true dual exhaust on it, then stepping up to 35's.

Love this truck!

We are the same. Depending on how you drive it... road trip yesterday, coming back to Tampa from North Florida... cruise on at 65 mph I was getting right at 17 mpg. Up to 70, no change. At 75 mph, the computer dropped it to 16 mpg... didn't do the actual math on it. So far, fuel consumption is not an issue for us. I commute on my motorcycle daily, knocking down about 47 mpg.

The dash meter is known to be quite optimistic. Mine shows 15 when hand calc shows 13. I have a 100 mile drive at 60-65mph limit. If I set the cruze at 65, it'll show 16 mpg and calc just under 14.

I've had 3 of them. The first had the 5.7 hemi and 4.56 gearing, remarkably it got the best gas mileage and regularly made 15ish mpg. The 6.4 never climbed above 13.7 mpg, although the lie-meter would routinely show 15+. Enjoy your PW!

Nice Truck! My office manager has a pink Tinkerbell plate on the front. She offered to let me dive in when my truck was getting some work done. No possible way. Lol
