Liked them better when they had 40% less torque and 50% better MPG. Not quite sure why a light duty truck needs more torque then a Diesel tractor of a decade ago had.

It was only a matter of time til someone broke the 1000 torque figure. That HO version is only available in the 3500. If you get a 2500 you have to make due with only 865 torques.

The brochure numbers are $hit. I had a 98 5.9 truly tuned to 900 lbs of torque. MONSTER FRAME TWISTING POWER. Today I have a 14 6.7 with supposedly 800 stock. Not even close. Believe what you want. Advertised HP is just that. I totally agree with buzz2401 on this.

Ever ride in a bus? Monster torque at low RMP's that MOVE a load. Give me that setup in a truck so I can tow my 15K camper with ease.

Sorry if I piss anyone off but it's true.

I'm getting one of these when they come out. I just want the big screen.

I owned lots of old ones. I way prefer the new ones. You guys that liked the old ones must not hear very well.

Like the 5.9, Cummins can configure the 6.7 to produce whatever they want it to....

huh? plenty of 3rd party resources out there that publish real world rear wheel dyno numbers for all the stock trucks. these new trucks stock are like an old truck with a ton of work/tune.

Do they have the same after treatment crap as diesel trucks?

Because this is America by God. Why do people deer hunt with 300 Win Mag's. Why do people buy 600HP Corvettes? Why do they serve 32oz beers at the sports bar?

I’ve watched numerous YouTube vids on the unveiling yesterday but am left with a couple of questions:

1). Do the 2500’s get the new CGI block? I know they are reduced output but are they the old block or the new one?

2). What fuel pumps are they using? I saw where the HO gets a “new” pump but can’t find what that is and if the 2500 gets new pump as well.

3). 2500 with air suspension option? I’ve seen contradictory info.

Thanks

I am in the process of buying a 1 ton dually crewcab now...as in this week. I wanted a Ford (my current ride is Ford) but availability in the mid-Atlantic area is limp AND they want $80,000.00 for them. Chevrolets are much more prevalent, pricing is aggressive and makes choosing much easier. Dodge/Fiat was never a consideration because of the rust issues EVERY Dodge I see has...in this area.
My friend has a diesel shop and he has told me repeatedly that the pollution controls and DEF are KILLING these motors. He likens it to running a 10K race with your mouth covered.
BTW Chevy's GVW is 13,000# while Ford's is 14,000#. I know Dodge has bigger numbers.
This new purchase/adventure was a direct reaction to my liability from towing of boat trailers with trucks that are not equipped properly (legal) to be towing what they were attached to. My current F-250 is rated @ 10,000#. I think my boat is close to that without the trailer. I will also replace the hitch for a 20,000 rating unit. Accidents happen. I am not looking to add to the problem with other issues. Too old for that crap.
