Default Boat Transportation Questions

I am negotiating to purchase a boat and working through how best to transport it from the East Coast back to Texas. The boat is around 25 feet and the seller has a new trailer on it so towing it to Texas on its trailer is very doable. My preference is to fly to the boat and then rent a pick-up to tow it and then obviously return to the tow vehicle to a location in Texas.

I have made initial enquiries to Enterprise and Avis but they do not have pick-ups that I could use for this purpose whereby I would start the rental on the East Coast and return it to a location in Texas. Does anybody have any suggestions? Is there a company out there that will rent me a 1/2 or 3/4 or 1 ton pick-up that I can use to tow the boat? I am wondering if there is some sort of a hot-shot service or trucking company that would lease me a pick-up (without a driver) for a week.

Thanks!

Enterprise will let you rent a truck (1/2 ton or 3/4 ton) to tow with. We did it and got a brand new Ram 2500, was great, was about 400 for a week

When talking to Enterprise, you have to talk to an Enterprise Truck location, not a regular location.

You can rent a premium suv from any car rental place and they will have hitches. Don’t mention you’ll be towing.
