Default Jeep Gladiator truck finally debuts

I won't be trading my truck for one, but I bet a lot of people will buy them. They'll sell a ton of these things, and in no time, you'll see them jacked up with light bars at a mall near you.

Was about to buy the family a 4 door JL for beach trips and wife to drive on spring and summer days to work etc. holding off now and getting the eco diesel gladiator. With helper bags it should be able to pull my next boat to and from launch if I donít want to keep a 3/4 diesel around.

I can only imagine the premium dealers will get on these things..particularly the first diesels. Might be cheaper to keep that 3/4 diesel around.

Iíll always have a 3/4 laying around due to work. Also have a friend that owns a Jeep and dodge franchise(I grew up in auto industry). I have a cj7 Iíve owned since I was 15, have owned multiple Tjís,cjs and jks. I will always own a Jeep or two and this thing is going to be awesome. Fully new design and over 10 years research and development. Will be a huge market changer.

Just another step in Jeep becoming Hummer. Next they will need to release a giant over sized wrangler (Hummer H2)

You know who buys jeep wranglers? 18-20something girls, often right out of college, that think they are cute and cool and will maybe drive on the beach (like barbie)...yet they don't even know how to engage 4wd.

You are the exception to the rule. FACT - Most Jeep owners never take them off road.

Jeep will make ridiculous amounts off the Gladiator due to brand loyalty plus people want more options in truck brands. Every third house on my block has a F150, Silverado, or Ram in driveway.
This will probably compete more with the quarter tons than half tons but cost more than the half tons.
I can't believe how much Jeeps cost for what you get. Plus people don't use them for their intended purpose - Off road. They just want to look like hipster rednecks and will pay a high premium for it.

People have been paying out the nose for years to have conversions done to their wranglers. It's how AEV got started, 4 door wranglers and pickups. I'm surprised it took jeep this long to come out with these.

i dont' think the Gladiator will be that successful. You aren't going to get the Chevy/Ford/Ram people to buy it. It will only be the Wrangler people. I know people have wanted it forever, with the price they are going to charge, it will only be the most hardcore Jeep person. Not too many soccer moms will get it.

Same thing with the up coming diesel engine option.
