Default BEWARE: BF Goodrich K02ís

I bought a set of BFGís (35x12.5-r18ís) for my 2015 Ram 2500 last week in Ohio. After a few miles I knew they werenít balanced correctly. I went back the next day and they couldnít get me in (surprise) so I had to wait until Sunday and go to another location 40 miles away to get them fixed. They said I was good to go, but the problem was still there. I was out of time and had to pull my camper from NW Ohio to WV. I couldnít go over 60 mph. I dropped my camper off and Monday morning headed back home towards Dauphin Island AL. I couldnít go 60 the whole way, but they evened out at 82 mph, so I figured Iíd just try my luck speeding. Well, I got as far as Virginia before the blue lights got me. I explained my situation and he wrote me up for faulty speedometer. Idk how much thatís gonna cost. I bounced as far as Chattanooga and couldnít take it anymore. I found a shop that did road force balancing and spent $130 on that, only to be told that one tire was too far out of round and it couldnít be balanced. So I lost two hours, $130, and bounced the rest of the way home. Now Iím sitting at a BFG dealer in Mobile while they get 4 new tires delivered. Apparently there is a well known issue with these tires and this dealer says all 4 are out of spec. Iím only home for a week at most before I have to head back to WV. Iím $1550 in on these damn tires, and thereís no guarantee the replacements are going to be any better. PLEASE DONíT BUY THESE TIRES! Iíve had good luck with them in the past, but QC has apparently gone out the window. This will be my last set of BFGís. If the 4 new tires arenít right idk what Iím going to do. Iíll probably just eat the $$$ and buy another brand. Iíve got 3 weeks worth of shit to do and 1 week to do it. I canít waste any more time on these junk tires.

I just wanted to let yíall know.

Rant over.

Please make sure you test drive them with the dealer before you leave. This place knew exactly what was wrong when I pulled up. They said at least 25% of these are junk when they get them.

That’s what I think too, but the dealer said they’ll just keep throwing tires at it instead of refunding me.

Raise hell with BFG - they will take care of you.

I've had really good luck with these tires.

I had this happen 10 years ago on a set of BFG's. Spent a ton of time and money balancing before one of the techs finally said it was a bad tire. Replaced and all was fine. Never gone back to those tires since.

Damn shame, I've had such good luck with BFG ATs but finally made the switch to Nitto for the Terra Grappler ATs.

Subd. Was planning on replacing my stock tires with BFG KO2's fairly soon on my Tundra. Please update this thread after getting replacement set to see if you just got a bad batch. I've heard mainly good things about these tires.

I have about 5,000 miles on my BFG KO2's on my F150 and have been very happy with them so far. No issues whatsoever.

30+ years in quality, currently a Senior Quality Manager.
Too many manufacturer do this, most of the time they know they have issues, release the product and hope only a fraction returns for replacement.
Cheaper than scrapping them.
See it all the time.....

6000 miles on my KO2's no issues.

I looked at Nittos but I have run BFG's for years and always liked them

I had the same experience. Had them balanced 3 times in one month. Spending 2 hours a day driving on the interstate could not take it any more. Bought some Nitto AT and they ride fine.

ditto for me. Hated to do it but it did and haven't looked back.

my local off-road place talked me out of the KO2 line for this reason and into the Nittos.
