Default New trailer recommendation and price

2000 proline 23 sport center console with twin hpdi 150s. Hull weight 3950. Motors about 500 each. 140 gallon gas tank.

What recommendations do y'all have for a new trailer that will fit really well? How much should I expect to spend--I don't need top of the line- just something that fits so easy to launch and load and is safe.

Platinum boat trailers has nice site and will ship and supposedly custom build their trailers to your boat's specs.

Based on your location I would call Kevin at Sport Trail in Bay St Louis MS. His prices are competitive and he will build a custom trailer for you. Use the search function to get a look at his work.

2nd sport trail. wouldnt buy anything but after having him build my trailer last month for my 26 regulator. Ive had all different kinds of generic brands and none of them hold a candle to kevins. if you go on my profile youll see the thread i started.

No better than Sport Trail. If everyone in the marine industry provided customer service like them everyone would own a boat.

Call Kevin at Sport Trail. Look at his build video. Amazing attention to practical details and construction that is second to none. Pricing is also very reasonable IMO for what you get in build quality.

Is this guy paying y'all?

I spoke with Kevin today, and I'm set up to get my boat down there in a couple of weeks. I will let y'all know whether he takes care of me- so far, so good though.

Big selling point is his custom fitting the trailer to the boat. I am going from a 19 ft bay boat to a 25 ft cc. I need one that is easy to drive boat onto in tough winds without a lot of stress and drama, especially as I get used to handling the new boat.

I'm not on his payroll Actually, I have an Owens and Sons...if you were in FL I would have recommended them.

But - Kevin won't build a trailer unless he either (a) has already built one for your exact boat and has the plans on file or (b) can find your exact boat nearby or (c) you can bring your boat to him so he can measure and build the jig. I've tried twice to buy a trailer from Kevin but he couldn't find my hull nearby and I had no wheels for it.

In your case, with your location, it's a no-brainer. I suspect that you will find his pricing to be competitive, and you will truly get a custom trailer for your boat.

Good luck and post pics....

No I am just a big fan of his work. I was fortunate to own one of his trailers and now I am spoiled and can't settle for any other trailer. He will be building a trailer for My current boat in a few weeks and I am just as excited with the trailer as I am for the boat. You will love your new Sport Trail trailer. Please post before and after pics.

I agree... based on your location, go with Sport Trail no doubt they build a good trailer. I have an Owens and Son and they build a fine trailer as well.

He built one for my 25' CC.

Easiest loading trailer I ever had.

I get as many compliments on the trailer as the boat.

Notice how white the hull is?

Kevin acid washed it for me before he set it on the trailer.

I'm taking boat down at the end of this week to leave it off to be fitted. Kevin told me it would be ready the following Friday. So, I hope to have it on may 16.

Kevin will be building my trailer real soon and I am almost more excited about the trailer than the boat. They are real craftsman at SportTrail.

I dropped my boat off today. 12 hours on the road round trip. I hope he is as good as everyone says. I pick up the new one next Friday.
