Default Ordering new F250 from Ford

Has anyone ordered a truck brand new from a ford dealer? How much can you move on the price? How long does it take? Been looking for a diesel f250 for about 6 months now and am just at the point of wanting to get exactly what I want. Don’t want to walk in not knowing any information about the whole process.

Ordered a 2018 F-150 from the factory, used a Costco dealer.
Got about $10k off, or almost 20%.
it was fun to order and to check all the boxes, but the.2 month waiting time almost killed me, too much delayed gratification.

Similar experience, but for a 2015 Chevy in late 2010, and again for a 2015.

I looked into the Costco program, can you give any input about how all that worked?

I ordered a F350 CC LWB Lariat optioned out with the 7.3L and 4.30 on 6/29/20. Ford received the order on 7/4/20. I got the VIN on 7/28/20. It went into production on 9/2/20. Should be delivered in a few weeks.

As to deals, I got invoice price plus rebates. With the private offer coupon that’s about $7500 off sticker. I’ve looked at a lot since, none were what I wanted with options like a moonroof or lacked something like the de-icer that gives rain sensing wipers. No dealer was willing to come off sticker that much. Just not that many out there unless you’re looking for XL or XLT or basic optioned Lariat.

I special ordered a Mustang in a package that was pretty much non existent in 2019. Dealer did invoice minus rebates, which if I get that I usually don't bother to fuss over price. I am usually not looking at models that are unpopular that sell for less than that. I had a private offer also, I wish it was $7500!!! From what I understand right now Ford is way under producing vehicles right now. The dealership I bought my mustang from has offered to buy it and just being in and out of other dealerships, I just bought a tow vehicle but got a 10 year old tow vehicle, many dealers have tried to buy it off me stating the same problem that they are having a hard time getting inventory like my car and they are also having a hard time getting trucks.

I always order my trucks so I get what I want. The cost to the dealership does not change.

Your problem with looking for SuperDuty trucks is that dealers stock either stripped commercial trucks (white in color), or they stock Lariats and above in trim--too nice. And the COROVID disrupted supplies of such vehicles, and even the largest dealers' stocks are somewhat depleted.

The big guns in the Southeast for Ford are Akins Ford (Jeep Ram) in Winder, Georgia or Brandon Ford in Tampa. Because of their sales volumes, Ford supplies them before other smaller dealers that don't nearly turnover inventoies so fast.

Due to the great variance in the sea of options, I would consider ordering a SuperDuty truck. My desire would be to order one that's nice enough--but not too ridiculously optioned up. I have no desire to spend my whole retirement income on a truck payment.

I’ve noticed that if you want to order a SuperCab version you can’t go any higher than Lariat anyway. Nor get the Tremor package. Kinda sucks to me. I’m a Ford fan and that must a bean counter move.

I ordered my 2019 F250 diesel from Bartow Ford (my 3rd. truck from Bartow Ford) I want to say about 90 days. About 13k off from sticker. Then I came across a PCO (private cash offer) and got another 3k off that cost. The PCO really helped and goes directly to the dealer from Ford marketing.Thank You For The Response and Congratulations,

Now you need a 4 wheeler to compliment those other vehicles.

Is ford still offering x-plan for share holders?

I’ve never tried. Also have been told x-plan is easily beat, is that true?

The dealer has to give you a substantial discount to stay in the Costco program, forgot the details, but I would certainly do it.
You log in to Costco and select the car buying program, then select brand and you get the Costco dealer in your area, then print a “certificate”
or something to bring along to the dealer.

When I ordered my 2018 Expedition I got $11,000 off sticker and was told that if any other incentives were in effect at the time of delivery they would honor that also. Fortunately at delivery there was a $1500 cash back which they did honor. Yes the 10 weeks+ seemed like eternity but I did get exactly what I wanted.

Yes and no, the price is fixed, invoice +/- a couple bucks, but with x-plan the max doc fee is $75.00, I think. If you’re in a high doc fee state, like Georgia or Florida, x-plan might be cheaper.

If you do order, don’t do what several of my customers did, put their trade in up for sale right after they ordered! One guy called me 3 times a week, because he was driving a Miata to work out of! 🤣
