Got my new trailer. Setting it up for boat now. What is some things you do to extend like on trailer and brakes?

Pull carpet off bunks and finders!!!! Carpet holds salt

Paint your axles,hubs, and or leaf springs with marine grease.

Spray every exposed bolt thread w/Rustoleum metallic finish paint. When a nut is run over a plated bolt, it removes much of the plating and it'll begin to rust after the first couple of dunkings. A coating of Never Seize is a better option but much more time-consuming.

This..... At minimum apply anti seize to all your lugs/studs on your wheels.... You'll be happy you did the first time you have to take a lug nut off... As a rookie and ignorant around 15 years ago i failed to do this and the first time i tried to take off a wheel i broke two studs because they were so corroded... Read somewhere about anti seize and have religiously always applied it since. The only drawback is that it can smear once you drive and dirties your rims.

Spray bolts with cold galvanizing spray . Wd 40 on wheel lugs and springs.

Thanks guys. Going to coat brakes and everything with wd 40. Will remove lugs and antisieze them.

Back off on the installing torque with anti seize on them , its a lubricant.

Dont spray your brakes with wd 40 or anything for that matter.

WD40 is a poor choice. It is really light and will not last long. Use anti-seize on the lugs, or at least marine grease. Use some type of corrosion block (I like CRC but there are many brands) on other fasteners and springs, etc. Remove the jack and take it apart - lubricate the moving parts and spray the rest with corrosion block, especially the insides.

Balance the wheels. Check to see if the brake pads have stainless backing plates, if not they will not last too long in salt.

Electrical grease on the pigtail contacts.

If you have an industrial supply company in your area see if they have open gear lube. It will protect anything metal and last for years. Spray it on leaf springs, lugs and anything else not galvanized, except your brake discs of course. It's nasty to put on but lasts for decades, 17 years on one trailer with no rust and the same set of springs.

Wipe the aluminum down with shark hide.
