Wife and I went to look at one yesterday while the dealership was closed. Good looking rides, just not enough for her to want one. She actually likes the previous generation better. Will be trading and or selling her 2019 Nissan Armada soon to find a “slightly” used 2020 or 2019 Suburban/Yukon XL that someone got trigger happy for the new 2021.

I've seen a couple on the road....but good grief...high $70s? It's ridiculous.

Thanks,
Brian

They've grown, and now have 26 cu ft of cargo space behind the third row. But the price is just insane

You can get an 4WD LT (up from LS) for $55k, but yes, loaded up with all the gizmos, it's crazy.

price out pickups with some decent options they are very high 50's, any SLT, Denalis,Platinum, similar trim level trucks are $70k- GAS not even diesel
Escalades and Navigators are approaching and exceeding $100k

the used market is crazy right now the guy saying he is going to find a 2020 that was traded in you will be paying a good amount of money for that- hopefully you get as good a return on your Armada to make up for it

It's technically not AFM, that was the 8-4cyl mode (dropped a bank). The new version is DFM, the 5.3l and the 6.2l can drop from 1 to 7 cylinders. I've driven both with the 10-speed in trucks, and it's head and shoulders above the old package, can't feel most shifts, can't tell if it's dropping cylinders, a very smooth powertrain.

Fleet use trucks are still seeing cam
failure with the new design in both 5.3 and 6.2.

i think on the AFM motors oil changes are key. Most of the ones we have sold are still running like a top at 100k plus if maintenance had been good. They all have there issues. Tundra is the best, but is just a very dated design.

I have a 5.3 Chevy with AFM just turned 254K miles and no problems. Could be 95% hiway driving or change oil and filter at 5k or before. Whatever it is I have not had the AFM problem others have had.

Love the way they look, If they don't have the 6.2 and 10spd though I wouldn't pull the trigger the last 5.3's I had in 15 was trash. Have been with Ram since 2012 for my personal setup and haven't missed the gm transmissions one bit. Might look into a suburban once pricing calms down and my lease is up.

Good luck finding one.

I think they look pretty sharp with the Z71 package. Just hate the fact that you have to select the High Country trim to step up to the 6.2!

im glad to hear this. I changed the oil every 5k miles. by 90k on the odometer, I was adding a quart every 1k miles. didn't have to change the oil anymore! Other than the trash engine, I really enjoyed the suburban. drove wonderfully...

Why can’t you get the 6.2 with the Z71 Package? Air suspension scares me too. Haven’t seen a pic of the Z71 Suburban.
