Default 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 Rebel Problems

Below is a paste from the Dodge ram forum of my problem. Anybody else having trouble with the newer Dodge Rams? Any Legal advise? I do have a herring set for Aug 5 with NCDS for arbitration. Sorry this is a picture as it would not let me cut and paste right with the black background.

Im assuming yours is an eTorque setup. Sounds like to me the main body ground is dirty/not tight. FCA had a recall for it. I had a truck like that a year ago for similar issue that already had the recall. Turns out the recall was done incorrectly. Removed the ground bolt next to the main battery, cleaned and tightened no more issues.

Yes it is a Etorque system. That recall ground issue was the 1st thing they tried. They found that the water leak from the rear window allowed water into the 48v battery where they found some corrosion and shorting. That may of fried something in the logic board in the generator. I still have the center display going blank mostly when it hot.

Can't help you sorry, but I do have a 2020 ram limited non e-torque... had to fly to Philly from NC to get it because I did NOT want that and the auto start stop. I love my truck with that being said. I hope this gets resolved for you!

From my dealings with GM, hire an attorney to make them buy the truck back. Arbitration will only come out in favor of the manufacturer and you will lose money on a problem that is not of your making. It sucks, it's a long drawn out process but will be the only way you are made whole on your investment. GM wanted me to use their source for arbitration, I refused after giving them numerous options to resolve the issue early on. I finally had it with their obfuscation, lies and literally trying to make their faulty product my problem and financial burden. In my personal experience with this particular truck, when they started throwing shit against the wall to see if it sticks, I knew that I would always have issues. They wanted to keep returning the truck saying it was fixed or some other BS, I finally told them I would never accept the truck back. Check your state's Lemon Laws, we are 3 attempts or 30 days for the same issue. At the time I lawyered up, mine had been in the shop a total of 72 days.

Honestly +1. Arbitration is a joke and useless as is reporting them to BBB.

I posted before, but I had a shitload of problems with my new GM car in 2007. The dealer was so bad they CRASHED THE CAR while working on it. Made promises they couldn’t keep regarding repairs.

I still have the car today as a reminder to not take any kind of shit from anyone or any business.

Not sure if it could be the same but I had a 2016 Ram 1500 which while overnight during the cold I would wake up to a dead truck which you needed a key to unlock and it had to be towed 4 times to figure out the issue. Finally figured out there was a bad soder in the BCM (body control module). Took a mechanic putting it in the fridge all night to figure out it was it as the truck would be fine in the warm shop.

Had a 2005 f150 bought new and within the first year had 2 catalytic converters replaced along with 3 fuel injectors. Traded a 2019 Chevy 1500 I bought new on the 2020 Ram after 11 months of ownership. The 8 spd trans on the Chevy would shift oddly at times and, of course, the dealer said it was normal. Didn't want to deal with that until warranty expired and I'd be screwed.
Bottom line is ALL brands have bad units that make it out of the factory and onto dealers lots.

I have to Update this... It appears they finally fixed the charging problem, time will tell. They did NOT fix the multi function display problem of going blank???? I did back out of the arbitration thru the NCDS after Dodge Letter pretty much put all the blame on the dealer. I also did a lot of research on other sources to find this arbitration ends up in favor of the MFG a lot of times. My attorney and I will address this at the courts as I want a judge to here my case if I don't get some restitution from Dodge without going to court. Ram Cares stopped communicating with me once I started the arbitration process so Now Ram Cares should be able to start communicating with me now that I canceled that process. NCDS told me I could re-start it at anytime and I do still have the display problem that was there from the start.
