Ford has so many trim levels it makes a search difficult. My question is appears that the XL SFX F-150 package is better than the XLT package? I am looking looking for a xlt with a full center console what model would that be? I am looking at late model used possibly new but not likely.

There is no way to get a power drivers seat on any XL trim truck. I don’t care about the power aspect, but the lack of seat cushion tilt adjustment would be an absolute non-starter for me personally.

I think I ruled out the Xl SFX 4Wd as if I am reading it correctly it only has a 7700 lb tow capacity. I may as well get a mid size truck but I need a little more tow cap. The search continues

I’m assuming that you are asking about an F150, as the 2.7 EcoBoost limits you to 7700 lbs towing. You can get an STX with any tow capacity you want if you go with a 3.5 EcoBoost.

The STX package on the F150 get's you the body color bumpers, unique grill, 20" wheels, Sync 3 and the full center console. The XLT is available with three option packages within that trim level. There is the basic 500a, 501a and 502a which add more features the higher you go. The XLT trim defaults to chrome grill and bumpers unless you opt for the XLT sport package. I suggest going on the Ford website and playing with the configurator to see that comes with each trim level and option package.
If you need more than 7700lbs of towing, you need to opt for either the 5.0 or 3.5 Ecoboost. I would suggest the 3.5 as it has much better towing manners than the V8. Also, make sure you opt for one with the max tow package. It includes the standard upgraded cooling, sway bars hitch and 4/7 pin connectors as well as a trailer brake controller and 36 gallon fuel tank.
Another thing to consider is, the less options the truck has, the more available payload the truck has. For example, a STX crew cab 4x4 with the 3.5 Ecoboost has around 1800lbs of payload.

I have an 2016 XLT with the 302A package with a center console. My boss has an 18 XLT Sport with the console and shifter built into the console. His has custom seats and different paint than a normal XLT. Both tow and haul about the same payload as they have the 5.0 with the tow package.
