Default 2020 F250 Lariat Sport 7.3

Picked this up from a dealer 260 miles from me. Negotiated the pricing, trade value, and financing over the phone yesterday morning m. Arrived at the dealer at 10am and was back on the road at 1028. A new record in time and painlessness

The 7.3 is going to (1) bring new customers to Ford and (2) take some sales from diesel purchasers. It's substantially stronger than GM's new 6.6 engine, and Ram doesn't have any gasoline engine to compete with it.

With the price of gasoline being such a differential vs. diesel, it makes the 7.3 a more desirable option. And it's $8K cheaper than the 6.7 diesel.

The tuners companies and the aftermarket is already engineering tunes and superchargers for the 7.3 engine. It's much more compact than the 6.2 engine is since it's camshaft is in the block, and hot rod builders are looking for this motor thru Ford Racing to go into older Mustangs, etc. Without any great investment, they can get 550 hp out of it.

i ended up buying a GMC Denali DMax. I thought hard about this engine but I want to see some real world long term reviews first. They’ll increase performance numbers on it in the next few years and probably offer a few variations. Then I’m buying one.

Dad probably made her put the coat on...

Nice truck and not at all a bad starting point MSRP on one of those. Nice color. Nice choice. Im very interested in how this 7.3L works out. I loved my old first edition 7.3L.

Beautiful. The exact truck I am looking to get with the exception of the snow plow package and heated rear seats. Looks fantastic, and thanks for sharing the sticker. Makes it easy for me to build one. Nice job.

I did not want the plow package or the heated rear seats. Fortunately they are inexpensive options. The final price paid was $60152 less 2250 in ford cash incentives- $57902. Also got a VERY generous trade price on a heavily used F150

very happy with the entire package and the 7.3l is awesome.

That is AWESOME mileage for a big ol HD, CC, 4x4 with a big block gas motor. (ESPECIALLY considering it's got 4.30 gears, wow that 10spd makes a diff!) That's about double what the equal trucks would've gotten in the 90s with a 460 and similar rearends!

I dang near pulled the trigger on a leftover 2019 F250 6.2 that Brandon Ford in Tampa has. BUT I REALLY WANT that 7.3, main reason to get a HD truck is power and capability, gonna be a bear might as well be a grizzly!

I don't even want all the bells and whistles. A chromed up, basic power options, back up cam, rubber floor, 6passenger cloth seats, 18" alum rims, black glass F250 XL is all I want! I DON'T want carpet, leather, fru-fru rims and body colored fronts/rears. I want a truck that I can work like a truck and I refuse to spend over $50k for the "pleasure"!

LOVE that color of yours!

ps
Enjoy the lil princess while you can! My "baby princess" is a Sr. at UT Knoxville and will be 22 in June. They grow up WAY to fast!!!

I had a 260mile trip home from the dealer yesterday morning. below are the stats.

Trip time 3:48
trip mileage 264
avg mpg 15.1

tbis included idling in the parking lot of the Cheesecake Factory waiting for lunch.

Mpg @ 65 - 17.9
70 - 15.4
80 - 11.9

the first 100 miles was on I87 though a hilly region. Cruise control set on 80 and it never can out of 10th gear even on the long steep grades. On the way there my f150 5.0 was downshifting on every slope.

My previous 2 5.0s had NO low end torque and generated little power until at least 3000rms. I don’t think I’ve seen over 3500rpms in this 7.3 and I drove over 12mikes on the beach this am.

Any questions, let me know.

That is just dumb economy - not so terribly long ago single cab half ton trucks would barely get 15 with a 175 HP 283 driving 55-60.

Add 1 MPG to the above figures for when she's well broke in....yeah screw a diesel.

Wow, that’s a gorgeous truck!!! That sticker reads like my dream list 7.3 engine, 4x4, 4.3 rear end gear, 397 amp alternator, and two batteries.
Mama Mia!!!
