Default 7.3 Superduty HYDRA

I installed one today and loaded about 12 tunes from stock to 140 hp
I went for a test drive and they all feel the same, now
I have a 6 speed truck and I feel like they all pull super hard from about 1k to 2200 rpm and then just falls flat on its face.
also the throttle is SUPER touchy and idk over all just feels weird.
anyone else have one on a 6 speed truck?

you'll get used to it. there is probably no longer any torque management. went through the same thing on my Cummins when i deleted it. very hard to drive smooth for a little while

Not a Hydra but I have a 6 position TS performance in mine and love it. It is very smooth. Any chip in a 7.3 is going to feel a bit strange coming from the stock tune. My first position tune is the stock tune. The stock tune is pretty docile. Feels funny going back to it after using my 50hp tune.

I have the stock tunes that come with it and I can tell a big difference whenever you get on it with the different power levels. That being said, it is a 7.3 and it will only give you so much without beefed up injectors.

I put a Hydra on my California truck (requires different tune(s)). Towing has been great. Otherwise, the shift points seem awkward. I'm not overly impressed.

stock transmission w stock valve body? I ordered a John wood valve body as well on my original transmission instead of the increased pressure through the hydra. Smoother for sure. I have an A1 Transmission out of Flowery Branch, GA and it is very firm. Next up are a set of full force injectors.

He has a 6 speed manual. No valve body. Check fuel filter, primary fuel pressure, icp, and main oil pressure. Never ran there specific tunes but have had 7 7.3s from stock to 450hp.

Ok so I got it figured out. To install this you have to remove the IDM from the truck and sand off the silicone off the data port where the chip plugs in.
Apparently I had a a tiny little bit of film left on the 2 inside terminals and that was interfering with the throttle position sensor messing up everything.
Truck runs better than ever now, pulls hard runs smooth and builds boost a lot faster at lower rpms.
Their customer service is legendary, they were willing to help more than I expected the support alone is worth the price of the chip.
Thanks for the help guys....
