Default $159 for GM navigation updates?

Truck is a 2015 and it gets lost in Miami big time. Is it worth the 160? or do I just ignore it and use my phone. Garmin has spoiled me.

Do you use it a lot?

They had a sale for the updates from like 3/1-6/30 for $99. I think they do this every year.

Occasionally but not even every week. It would be nice to not have to look down at my phone though. Good tip on the sale.

Waze and a good phone holder is all you need. Sadly the 15s missed out on Carplay and Android Auto, you would need to replace two modules behind the dash and have the system flashed to add those features and cost wise it does not make sense.

I don't have an Android (for now), but Carplay kinda sucks. There are like 10 apps that "work" with Carplay. Why can't I use a weather app (like Radar now) and broadcast it on my screen in my truck? It is annoying that there are only a few apps that aren't locked out. I'm certain it comes down to how much money the developer gives Apple.

Acura wants about the same for a baby system that sucks, ask me how I know. Anyways I personally don’t understand why Mac systems are still added to vehicles. Nothing beats google, waze, Apple maps. I think it just another way for the manuf to make money on a useless piece of equipment that needs expensive updates anyways.

I wish vehicle manufacturers would partner with Garmin for their in dash navigation mapping.

Have you considered upgrading the in dash system in your 2015 to be CarPlay capable? I know there are aftermarket companies that do that stuff now.

Am I the only person who was super excited about android auto and now that I have it I'm kind of disappointed? People acted like not having it is a deal breaker. I use sync more then android auto. Just my opinion

Did you upgrade from your rotary dial phones and AOL dialup service?

how is an old paper map any better than an old electronic map?

real answer to this problem is carplay...waze right on your screen, integrates w/stereo, phone, spotify, etc. listen to music, it turns the volume down to warn you a cop is ½ mile ahead, etc. no going back once you do this.

2019 Ram has live radar, no app or carplay needed.

What's wrong with the big green road signs?

Don't understand everyone witb these map phones and such.

I drive all over CA and back amd forth across the country and all I ever use in the green signs my tax dollars paid for.

Works perfect. They tell you everything you need to know.

After my Garmin lead me to the wrong place several times, and routed my wife with some really lousy directions, I lost faith. Her new phone is better.

Schmaltz, I have upgraded to a durable flip phone. EVERY Smart phone on my construction sites has either a busted screen or a dead battery.

AOL dial-up..what was it..$200 to upgrade to 50,000 baud? Slower than the speed of smell. I remember that sound...

No argument. I'm the same way, but my wife gets lost in our house.

It was a hard pass for me. I was thinking about getting onstar for the unlimited internet though, which would include turn by turn direction.
