Went back and forth on this one. Over the weekend was going to scrap the idea then one fell in my lap at the right price.

It's headed to my house in Florida for a few weeks while we sort out customs and tax then headed over to France. It won't get tags so it's only going to see the inside of my garage Apparently there's a hot market over there and there is money to be made.

I'll let you know when it gets over there.

Not really sure. My buddy is American but has been living on and off in France for the last few years. All he told me was the exhaust has to go, something about emissions I guess.

It has a Gemballa Sport exhaust. I think he's going to put the stock on it then once it passes switch it back out.

Thats cool... I am sure he will love over there... Some nice driving for sure..

My new GF is French from Provence ... I am sure she wouldn't mind a spirited run up to Chamonix for the week...

I will loan you guys my turbo for the week in exchange :-)

She finally arrived last week. Got her cleaned up yesterday since it finally stopped raining. Snapped a few pics and took a short vid of the Gemballa exhaust.

Nice looking ride for sure.

For the question about Millennia Motors in Longwood - they are one of the largest used P-car dealers in the US... I know them personally - great people and have top notch cars. I'll actually be instructing with the owner this weekend at the track - Roebling in Savannah.

I'm about 2 or 3 good baseball pitches away from their location - so if anyone needs a set of eyes on the ground locally - let me know.

Man that sounds good. The girlfriend is on the fence about diving in to getting a 911. We are looking at '13 S's or 996 turbo's. Do you have any advice which way to go?

The other guys on here are the ones to ask. This car I got with a buddy for an investment, he has a buyer lined up for it overseas and he was specific in it being a black 996 turbo s, just got lucky we found one at a good price that was clean. We're not going to put tags on it but I have taken it around the block a few times....it's fast

Depends. If it were me - I'd get the newest one that I could afford. The S is probably going to be a faster car than the older 996 turbo. The GF will like the fit and finish of the new car better than that of the more primitive 996.

The 996 turbo is probably at the bottom of its depreciation - so you'll likely sell it for what you have into it or more. I don't see the 996 appreciating like the older air cooled cars though.

Personally - I don't like the way the AWD cars drive - but that's me - and I drive them on track mostly. I have had a student the last few times at Sebring with a 997 turbo S - and its scary fast on a straight line - but a pig around the corners (relatively speaking).

I'm coaching again this weekend in a 996 C4S - non turbo... I imagine it will be about the same experience - only a bit slower.

Overall - I think the newer car would make you much happier.
