Looking to cross to the Bahamas from Ft. Lauderdale on June 21st. How would we meet other boaters to cross with?

First, post this in the Florida section. No one will see it here. Second, where are you going? The "Bahamas" is a pretty big place so no one will have any idea where you are going. That is a start.

Usually sail boats and trawlers anchor in Lake Sylvia waiting for “crossing window. If your boat is slow, go down to No-Name Harbor and wait for the weather window, better angle for crossing to Bimini and North Cat Cay.
if your are going to the Abacos, different story.
The current can be 3.5 knots and if you are slow, it will set you North 30-40 miles as you cross.
More info on your boat will give better advice, I crossed 30 times each way, happy to help.
