Default Problems with video URL's...

This has been a problem for a while now... Part of the membership benefit is that YouTube vids will be embedded in the body of the post. What's the deal?

It is because of how youtube formats some of the links.

Copy the part on the end:

DkS9y5t0tR0

Go to youtube.com and put that in the search box, hit search.

Right click on the result you want, select copy shortcut and paste that here.

The problem is that the software does not recognize the feature=player_detailpage& that youtube puts on the link.

I go through and fix posts all of the time because of this.

Another couple tips.

Sometimes the link will start with https, remove the s.

If you are on a mobile device, or watching a link that someone sent from a mobile device it will have youtu.be as the base URL. It has to be changed to youtube.com.

When it is up top in the address bar, you have to right click the address there and copy it. It should look like this with none of the embed or youtu.be crap in it.

h t t p ://w w w .y o u tube.com/watch?v=DkS9y5t0tR0

Spaces added so hopefully the link will display.

Do not use the embed code that youtube generates, only use the web page address of the video and change the https to http.

You are either using the moble site or the shortened URL. It has to be the full url like the earlier one.

Just paste it into the thread. The system will auto embed it as long as the url is correct.
