Default Tackle Direct - Low Prices, Low Service

Very disappointed in Tackle Direct. While there prices are low, so is their service. As they rely on other vendors to drop ship for them, they are at their mercy when things go wrong. Emailed stated my order was shipped complete. I arranged for installation only to find the order was not shipped complete. They said they were sorry but couldn't do anything about it.
Let the buyer beware!

Thanks for letting me know and sorry for any trouble but something doesn't seem right here? We drop ship very little overall and our website inventory is real time. You should know up front what's in stock ready to ship and what's not. And, we email orders that are out of stock letting them know. PM me the order number. I for one want to make this right and two want to improve.

Thanks!

JV

OK if you are in Vero, FL I found your order. Ordered 5/3 5PM over the phone. Shipped COMPLETE on 5/4 and it left via 2 different warehouses. One box you received immediately on 5/5 since it shipped from FL. The box coming from NJ is scheduled for delivery Tuesday. The shipping confirmation e-mail had both tracking numbers shown.

Also, we special ordered these CE Smith parts for you! CE Smith is drop-shipped by 99% of all dealers for their items.

Fast shipping for free and a quick delivery time to me isn't low service. I am sorry to see you scheduled an install before getting all of your items but it doesn't seem fair to hold TackleDirect accountable for that by posting this?

Please send me your dry dock bill and I'll cover half of it in good faith since we ended up inadvertently delaying your install for two days.

That sounds like a good offer that's not required. There's usually two sides to a complaint, in most cases, I've found.

Only issue Iv ever had wth TD is when I went to order a raymarine dash fitment plate that showed 10 in stock. They have been discontinued for a few years and in high demand so I called and spoke to someone. They said the counts are off and they don't have any in stock. Easy to pick up the phone and check especially on something that was no longer made. That's so minor in the world we live in so like always, the crew at TD will continue to get my hard earned money! They have been nothing but great and I know I'm not the only one here. As for the OP, never book an install before having every single part. What if there was a snow storm and the parts were stuck on the side of a frozen mountain, you going to blame TD pro staff for not calling the snow forecast?

I've been ordering from TD for years. Never once a problem, store or shipping.
I'd consider them top-notch.

In this thread we learn how the Op doesn't read his emails and doesn't check both tracking numbers.

Never had a problem with these guys either online, on phone or in store. If you get a chance to visit the store do so it's like fishing wonderland. All of the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. I've dropped thousands there.

Default Happy customer here

I've ordered tons of stiff w/o issue and usually get it within 2 days. Staff is knowledgeable and doesn't try to upsell you. I think too many people have an issue with a business and rather than attempt to resolve the issue like an adult, they immediately blast them on the internet with the safety of anonymity.

You're going above and beyond, so good on you. I cringe reading this however as (unless there's another side to the story) it's rewarding the OP being a difficult and unreasonable customer.

Retailing Rule #1......

"There are no difficult or unreasonable customers....There are only customers"

Rule #2

"The customer is always right"

What TD did for this fellow on this forum is worth thousands of dollars in marketing expense. Good for TD!
