The top two teams are eliminated. A game 7 tonight for the 4th place team. Quite possibly 3 of 4 of the top teams could be gone by tomorrow morning.

WOW!!!

So the two teams I didn't think the Bruins could beat (TB and Wash) are gone..... So can they do it? One game at a time. Focus on one game at a time......

Let's go Canes! Already got my tickets for next round. Really nice to have playoff hockey excitement here after so many years.

I can't believe how poorly I picked the first round. Then again, I don't think many people would have picked all 4 division winners to lose. Here's my thoughts on round two:

Columbus at Boston: This one will probably go 7 games, as both Rask and Bobrovsky haven't been stellar in recent years. Columbus has learned how to play defense, though. I'll take the Blue Jackets
Carolina at NY Islanders: Barry Trotz is the man. What else can I say? Islanders in 5

Dallas at St. Louis: Both teams seem to be on a roll. I think this one will also go 7 and give the nod to the home team Blues
Colorado at San Jose: San Jose is going to need more than a 5-minute major to overcome Colorado. Avs in 6

Carolina vs. Islanders - I am a lifelong Islander fan living in North Carolina. Became a Canes fan due to proximity but will remain loyal to the Islanders. Geez I wish they were not playing each other. I think the Canes are playing as well if not better than anyone in the league with the possible exception of the Blues. As much as I wanted Washington to lose, I think that would have been a better match up for the Isles. I am not picking this series! LOL but it will go 7

Columbus vs. Boston - Boston was up and down against an up and down Leafs team. Columbus smoked the Lightning. Goal tending issues for both teams but if CBJ can play they way they did against Boston they can pull off another upset. CBJ in 6

Dallas vs. St. Louis - I still think this is year for the Blues. St. Louis in 5

Colorado at San Jose - I think the Sharks are ridiculously lucky to have gotten that major call. Should have been a minor. But they did win and face a Colorado team that I know nothing about. Flipping a coin and going with San Jose in 7

Die hard San Jose fan and have a house less than 2 miles from the Shark tank. With that said, This bruins game 2 is absolutely addicting! Most physical body checking game Iv seen in ages. Exciting stuff for sure. Bruins win the series but it goes 7 games! Sharks win in 6 games. Canes go 7 games who cares about the rest! Bruins in the finals, hope the Sharks will join them but time will tell

Two distressing losses by the Isles, Canes are playing very well

Strange playoffs so far.

The current NHL playoffs are taking place in an alternate reality in another dimension. We are witnessing it via the Matrix.

Canes are looking pretty solid. I'm still a diehard Avs fan but I would be very happy seeing the Avs/Canes face each other in the finals. My daughter plays for the U14 Junior Canes so I guess I have to root for them in the east :-) If they make it to round 3 I'm hoping for a home game on May 10 or 11 as we have to be in Raleigh that weekend for tryouts for next season.
