He is fine imo. They just love to have an excuse chambered. Between Jesus, Coutinho, Marcelo, Paulinho, Casemiro, Silva , Firmino, Fernandinho, etc they have plenty of backup available. My biggest question is why dont they have Ederson in goal ?

That Mexico match felt like a final. Now lets see how they perform against a lower tier opponent. Just like the USMNT, thats when they run into trouble.

There will be partying in Los Angeles tonight, lets hope it does not get out of hand.
Well played Mexico, looking forward to Brazil vs Switzerland and can't wait to see England vs Tunisia, this is suppose to be the best English team since '86 in Mexico and the hand of god goal.

What a goal from Coutinho ! The ENG team is without a doubt flooded with talent. BUT, the talent is known for not showing up on the big stage.

Talk about not showing up on the big stage, what happen to Brazil they acted as if the game was over when they scored.
Hope England live up to their potential and go deep in to the tournament. would love to see a Argentina/ Brazil or Germany/England final

Reynaldo was a beast this weekend. Pique's push was regrettable. Neymar was mugged all game. Messi had some beautiful passes.

It is a fantastic game totally ruined by flopping.... and more than flopping it is the rolling around like you were bull whipped even after you get the call. My kids all played soccer though high school and one of mine still plays in college. I love the women's FIFA game because they don't flop nearly as much. The Montreal Canadians went through a phase where they were constantly flopping. I hated them for it (well I am from Boston so it is easy to hate them anyway). It was ruining hockey which I love. Embellishment penalties saved the sport in my mind.

It is really a shame. And I know the rest of the world is absolutely crazed about soccer/futbol. The skill level and athletic ability is off the charts. But culturally it is just very hard to watch for this American. It is really too bad because it is very solvable by FIFA. If you go down causing a stoppage in play, then review it. If you have been found to have flopped, you must be substituted out. Apply the rule sparingly and assume that knee on knee or accidental spiking really does hurt (it does). But flagrant flopping requires a substitution. There are limited number substitutions during a game (I am admittedly not enough of a fan to know how many). So it is a very costly "penalty."

Whammo.... problem solved and the game (in my mind) becomes as great as the rest of the world see it....

there is only one true loser in this world cup. the USA.

US Soccer Fed needs a house cleaning. zero excuse for not qualifying. shit, we didn't even send our best players to qualify.

for someone like myself that is a rabid sports fan, admittedly a very casual soccer fan, how do you expect ME to get fired up over this event or the sport in general. If the USA was playing, you're damn straight i'd be all about it. not so much now. don't mistake this as saying they should win the thing, but you HAVE to be in it. you're telling me some of these podung countries are better than the USA? no way. this is a huge management and admin problem. figure it our soccer geeks. you have one job, play in the world freakin' cup.

grow the game in the country??? PFFFFT, not qualifying for the worlds biggest soccer event set the game back 25 years in this country.

end rant.

Agreed, if you take a look at the team that qualified from CONCACAF Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama and the teams that make up CONCACAF there is no way the USA should not have qualified. its politics and self serving on the part of the administrators.

Jurgen Klinsmann left him too big a hole to climb out of.

Don't cry for Argentina, barring a miracle they are going home, I like the way the European teams attach Argentina, speed on the wings and muscle in the middle, as skillful as Messi is, its tough to have two 6' + 180 lbs guys taking turns leaning on him for 90+ minutes.

Croatia is a safe bet, however Uruguay looks imposing, my wish before the tournament started was England and I will hang with them.
