Default Final Four

Just as I predicted:

#1 Kansas vs #1 Villanova

and

#3 Michigan vs # 11 Loyola

Yikes , but Loyola is the most fun to watch, screens, drives kickouts, 3's and just plain old fashioned scrappieness. Diving for loose balls, boxing out on the boards - all the little stuff you have to do if you aren't one of the schools from the Major 5 Conferences.

So we have: The Big Ten vs The Missouri Valley Conference

The Big East vs The Big 12

I, for whatever reason, had picked Virginia to win it all; so I at least have 3 of the Final Four and saw some really entertaining games.

Who ya got ?

I'd love to say Loyola but the Cinderellas never seem to win it all anymore. Nova take it.

.

It's going to be hard to top Grayson Allen failing at the end of the dook game.

Tough way to go out, but he EARNED it !

Soooo I like Kansas for size and balance, Villanova for balance, plus I like the Big East from days gone by. Michigan is playing extremely well and they are all well coached.
I love Loyola, but they are up against the Big Boys now, there is a 1 in 3 chance for them to beat Michigan, But Kansas and Villanova are too deep unless they get a miracle from the guy in the sky. .

Now that I think about - I Like all 4 teams remaining !!

So who do I think will get to cut the nets down ? KANSAS

Watching from the sidelines:
Pitino, Calapari
Coach K, Roy W
Sweaty Sean, Tony Bennet
and I must admit seeing the one and done's gone is SWEET !!

Well I was right again, well half right; is that like half witted?

Michigan eventually overcame a really gritty, good Loyola team. Moritz Wagner, the 6'11" center was everywhere and almost singlehandedly propelled Michigan to victory. He scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, he had become the third player in NCAA history to record at least 20 points and 15 rebounds in a semifinal game.

The others? Hakeem Olajuwon and Larry Bird. Pretty damn good company !!!

In the other semi final Villanova jumped out to a 22-4 lead and cruised the rest of the way. They were too fast and their defense too stiffling for the Jayhawks.

Will the size of Michigan in the middle beat the speed of Villanova - No I don't think so, trust me I'm almost perfect half the time

Well Well Well The Beast from the Big East takes the Crown !!

The Wildcats were 6.5 point favorites to take home their third title and their second one in the past three years, but the Wolverines were looking to take home college basketball's top honor for the first time since 1989.

Donte DiVincenzo wasn’t the favorite to win Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four between No. 1 Villanova and No. 3 Michigan Monday night. DiVincenzo doesn’t even start for Nova; he’s one of the better bench players in the country. But you couldn’t tell him that under the brightest lights in college basketball when the sophomore guard lit into the Wolverines for 31 points in Nova’s 79-62 championship victory. DiVincenzo shot 10-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-8 from downtown. He went on two personal runs, including scoring 11 straight second-half points for Villanova in under 3:30.
DiVincenzo also had 15 points on 4-of-6 shooting along with eight rebounds and three assists off the bench in Villanova’s Final Four matchup against Kansas.DiVincenzo’s National Championship performance goes down in college basketball lore. His 31 points were the most scored in a championship game since Miles Simon scored 30 for Arizona in 1997. His game also marked the most points ever scored by a bench player in NCAA National Championship Game history. The timing of DiVincenzo buckets were also incredible. When the Wolverines cut Villanova’s lead down to 12, he came down the floor and hit back-to-back cold-blooded triples to keep Michigan at bay. His wink towards press row was maybe the best part.DiVincenzo had the eighth longest Bovada odds to win Most Outstanding Player behind Jalen Brunson, Moritz Wagner, Mikal Bridges, Charles Matthews, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Omari Spellman and Eric Paschall.

When the betting lines opened, via Bovada.lv, Jalen Brunson of Villanova was the favorite at +240. The highest he moved to was -155. DiVincenzo had +1600 odds at winning the award.

My money was on Dook to be the ‘November National Champions’ once again and low and behold, they are!!

I like when they’re always picked to be No.1 for the next season, it works well for them.

I enjoy when the one and done primadonnas get sent packing, and seeing the blank expression on the coach's face.
