Default How About That Tribe!!!!!!!!!!!!

20 consecutive wins, a record tying the Athletics.. Leads MLB AL. And all while starters Kipnis, Miller, Brantley are out on the disabled list.. Magic number 5.

Roll Tribe.

21 consecutive wins, an American League record and tying with the 1935 Cubbies.

The 1916 (or so) NY Giants are listed by MLB as winning the most consecutive wins (26) but the string included a tie. How they earned that record for consecutive wins is beyond me.

Considering that blacks and latinos did not/were not allowed to play back in 1935 the Tribe's record is indeed impressive.

Hoping they are not peaking too soon though.

Very impressive indeed and fun to watch! What in the hell does blacks and latinos not playing in the day have to do with it tho?? I have not heard this one yet.... the playing field was even so what does that add to the equation??

The addition of those racial groups to MLB immensely improved the overall talent on teams today compared to 1935.

Consider also the size of today's mitts making it harder for many hits not to be caught.

Better talent, larger mitts, etc lead it to being harder to win 21 consecutive wins now.

Yeah, but don't all the other teams have the additional racial groups, larger mitts, etc also ???

Yep. But I am arguing that winning 21 consecutive games with todays superior talent, training, coaching and larger gloves is more of an accomplishment today than in 1835.

Let's agree to disagree on this.

Well, baseball wasn't around in 1835. I get your arguement and I think the tribes record is just as good.... but it's an even playing field with Lil gloves or Lil white guys.

It stops at 22.

Hats off to the Tribe. Wow, what a run.

Now let's clinch the Central and go on to win the World Series!

27 wins over the past 28 games, including the win today (which was mainly pitched by our bullpen to rest our starters).

We were 20 games behind the Dodgers and are now 1 for the best record.

I know all this is meaningless going into the playoffs but heck it is pretty impressive.
