They will give him all year. New coaching staff and offense and to many picks given up for him. Snyder does not want to look any stupider than he already does.

I thought he looked pretty good his rookie year?? Hopefully his leg will be OK, I flinch everytime he gets hit! I will definitely take the OVER 5 Games, RG is not going anywhere. It's not like the Skins have a crappy Tebow or Johnny on the sidelines with a huge fan base to throw into the game.
Hopefully RG will have a good injury free year, tons of talent

No, they have Kirk Cousins, who would be a starter on most other teams. They actually have a legitimate backup who many think is better than RG3.

Cousin isn't going to get you to your goal.....His real #s are not very respectable. Play a guy that can win you 7 or 8 games a year maybe or a potential that can take you to the playoffs consistently........I don't get all the doubt on RG3, he's had a crappy preseason.......Ok

He's done, has been since that injury. Hopefully they won't let it die a slow, painful death.

Preseason means nothing.

Captain Kirk is looking good but it's preseason......means nothing.

It takes a full year to get over that knee injury, I suspect RG3 will be back. Hopefully.......#HTTR

Vultures are circling and if Bob keeps letting himself get lit-up several times a game he'll make the decision for them. He got ripped big time in Cleveland game, three times on one play alone.

I hope I'm wrong but he sure doesn't look like a drop-back and read D type of QB and that has nothing to do with the injury.

While I love watching these running QB's (Vick, Manzel, Newton, RGIII, etc) in COLLEGE in the NFL all it stands for is Not For Long

Those little suckie runs that turn into a 60 yard td for a QB in college NEVER work in the NFL, well maybe ONCE

The NFL teams CAN NOT afford to loose a starting QB and when this happens it pretty much dooms the teams season UNLESS the backup is Tom Brady

I am afraid RGIII is either going to have to learn to be a pocket passer or his career will not be that long

It will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out, RG III has not looked even remotely like the guy I saw before the injury. They, (The Redskins), certainly have some very talented skill players on offense, can the OL do it's job ?

Lil Danny couldn't look any stupider than he already does.

Bob is but a shell of his former self and the other teams have figured out how to keep him in the pocket or neutralize him if he leaves the pocket.

I've been a skins fan since 63 but at this point I have little hope for Bob.

At this point I'm hoping Lil Danny sours on the team and sells it on.

JKC screwed the pooch on the way he setup the transfer of the team.

I would say to skip how he looks in preseason for a few games before we send him to the scrap yard.

He was done after year one... and NFL defensive coordinators had an entire offseason to scheme against the read-option. You surely don't see NFL DE's looking like fools anymore, like they did his rookie season.

I'm a big fan of RGIII but I must say, he did not look good at all versus Baltimore. His running was very awkward and he seemed sluggish. It's a real shame too because in his rookie year I thought he looked great! Too bad Shanahan had to destroy this guy.

Don't think it is as much Shanahan as it is the NFL in general

Not sure I agree it's (all) the injury or because the NFL caught up. First year I think the Shannys rode his skillset hard and it was successful till he broke down. Last year the injury obviously limited them/him from doing the same things. He had to be a more stationary QB and we saw what that got em.

Now, even though he's healed, or should be, Gruden's new offense is so far calling for the same thing - sit and read - and he doesn't look comfortable doing it and imho not because of any physical limitation.

Will the offense be more dynamic when the regular season starts, allowing him to move around? Maybe. Almost has to. If that happens then I think we'll see whether he's limited or lost that elusiveness. If Gruden sticks to a sit and read system I think Bob will play majority of the season (barring injury) but my guess is it won't go well and they'll be chanting KIRK, KIRK, KIRK before long.

Again, I hope this doesn't happen. As a fan I'm fully prepared for some growing pains while they make him the QB they need him to be long term. From me he's getting 8 games

Good insights...I would add one more thought that seems often overlooked.

Rookie year is highly exaggerated success.
Keep in mind that the team was 3-6 and Shanahan had thrown in the towel.
Cousins was at the helm for two of the games in the 7 game win streak.
None of those games were offensive runaways.
Some of RGIII's rookie year statistics came in meaningless situations when the team had already lost.

RGIII has one thing that is exceptional...his PR and endorsement hype machine.
These are tied hand in hand to the NFL as advertisers.

RGIII may be the most over rated athlete in the NFL...time will tell.
