Respectfully, I disagree with that part of your thinking. At least for me, it's not that I think athletes shouldn't have an opinion - it's just that I don't want their opinion shoved down my throat while trying to watch a football game. Regardless of which side of the political fence they sit on, don't make entertainment be political. If I want to watch pro football, the NFL is the main source. I think all players should have opinions. I just don't want to hear about them, any more than I'd want my eye doctor to tell me how I should be voting. I go to him to get my eyes checked, not to be lectured on his idea of politics. Hopefully that makes sense.

You have not heard this President disparaging our armed forces. Absolutely the opposite. Amazing that people would believe this.

He called McCain a loser for getting captured. Oh wait McCain was alive then, youíre right.

you are 100% right . They can do what ever they want to do. likewise,I can say , see ya. I am not in the least bit offended by their protest. I think it's silly, it doesn't change anything and honestly it's just old. They expect me to care and at one point I did care. However, constLt blaming all this stuff on systemic racism and everyone else is to blame, frankly I just tune it out. Funny how in all these recent cop interactions resulting in death or shooting , that if only the suspect followed the cops orders and didn't run, reach for weapons and such, that all those dudes would actually be alive. That fact seems to escape everyone .

So, the NFL can do its thing and try to cram their PC social warrior stuff on everyone ,I chose to ignore it and their product. That same Constitution gives me the right to walk away.

Nothing was shoved down your throat, you werenít lectured. Theyíve engaged in completely peaceful, mostly silent protest. I donít even know if taking a knee rises to the level of full protest. They arenít condoning looting and rioting, which is a separate problem. They arenít burning flags. They never put down veterans. Theyíre dealing with a series of issues that most of us canít fathom, from systemic racism to cycles of poverty and unbalanced incarceration in their communities to the outright murder of innocent people from both law enforcement and their own neighbors. If youíve ever put a sticker on your truck or a sign in your yard or posted on a forum or lectured a random person about your view on an issue, itís no different from them having an opinion. People need to stop acting like theyíre some kind of circus animals only here for your entertainment.

I love football. Having played D1 college ball, Iím on the edge of my seat every year for it to start. All the race stuff is just background noise.
Me also. When winter gets here itís about the only thing I look forward to is watching football. I have had NFLTicket from the very first time it was offered on Directv and donít plan to stop.

Itís so simple.... you donít like it there are 100ís of other things to watch. I hate the stupid food wars shoes so I just donít watch any of them.

GO STEELERS!!!

He has been recorded disparaging everyone from Generals to Gold Star families to POWs. Heís a documented draft dodger. These things are not in dispute. If you care to ďdo your researchĒ you can spend 5 minutes on google and confirm what I wrote. He bashed McCain in life and in death, and openly used the ďhe was capturedĒ insults along the same lines as his ďloserĒ comments. He couldnít even pay respects in memorial to a man the Republican Party idolized as their candidate in 2008. He canít be bothered to comment on intelligence that Russia put bounties on US soldiers, actually paying for our troops body count, nor will he confront them about...well...anything. How do you not address that as Commander in Chief? Itís so freaking sad to see a generation of guys Who fought Nazism, fascism, communism and terrorism to protect freedom... now crying about peaceful protest and bowing down to this utter con man.

If that's so why is the salary cap going down 20 to 30 million. That's whats been reported. Rating's up but their pay goes down?

NBA rating's down 30 percent.

The only way NFL rating's might go up is because the lack of people at the games. Those homers have to watch it somehow.

you are pathetically insufferable and incapable of distinguishing between a person having an opinion on a matter and what these poor oppressed NFL players are doing by utilizing their platform to publicly express their ideological beliefs while disrespecting our nation in the process. Now that is my opinion.

yep the nfl ratings I can't see going anywhere but in the toilet. Ratings and attendance have been down and for good reason, now they are doubling down on what put off so many fans. Yea good luck with that!
