My time in baseball was Yogi, Mickey, Roger, Moose, Whitey etc. Sneaked out to ride the subway to a game or two. Lost interest a long time ago.

Long ago and a golden time for baseball, according to the scribes. But hell football was better then too, they were allowed to hit and criminals generally didn't play.

Hockey is starting with b ball behind it. I liked the hitting in old time hockey and calling traveling in b ball

Everything changes, change is the only constant in life.

I think they are the best team in baseball.
Stud pitching, great hitting, good defense and a nice bull pen

They are a COMPLETE team !

Seems like a solid choice.Loaded ,deep and still pissed off about what Boston did to them last year.I think they're a lock for American League.

And last nights 4-3 win by the Nats over the Brewers was a great game. Exciting start and a nail biting ending. The Nats scoring 3 runs with 2 out in the bottom of the 8th, to go up 1 was really exciting !
The stadium erupted and the long suffering Wash fans saw a playoff win for once ! Strasburg was fantastic 3 innings 4 k's

Now on to LA for the NATS Good matchup

I really enjoy your annual MLB playoff thread.

I have no dog in this race this year. My Cubbies flamed out just like the good old days. I was going to root for the Astros but with the Nats wild wildcard win, I might pull for Davy Martinez. At least Bryce Harper is gone. Couldn’t stand that metrosexual.

I went with the Rays, glad to see they took the first step in the process with a win over Oakland.

Cards fan so biased but I think the Scrubs are going back to the good ol days for awhile. Some very bad choices made...........Heyward being at the top, not sure they will be able to get away from him as they paid him a MINT for what he is. Cards/Braves first game was pretty intense!

Thanks

I hope no one bet on my Wild card picks !

Cards did another miraculous comeback and the Nats were OK till the 7th
and in the middle was a good for once: Thursday Night Football game - why God invented DVR's

4 games today !!

Minnesota is usually a warm up for the Yankees, but not this year ! I expect a tough back and forth series
The Twins teams that served as Yankee punching bags in the past so often were hobbled by one thing: a glaring lack of firepower. But these Twins went toe to toe with the Yankees for the AL home run crown and will play this series the same way, and if they can steal one of the two early games in the Bronx, the Yanks could be in for a world of hurt back in Minneapolis.

Rays - Astros I have to root for the Rays, as the poor man's underdog and because I don't really want to face the Stros; if the Yankees advance: Verlander, Cole, Greinke etc. is enough to slow down any offense

Nats need a win today or they are done, same for the Braves who lost a tough one yesterday.

Pitching, pitching, pitching - It's the playoffs !
