And now the Cards are making the Braves look like a real team to beat. Cards would have been swept by now if they didnít put up a 4 spot in the 9th in game 1.

As for the Twins, pretty much a punching bag for the Yanks at this point.
Sh1tburds would been really screwed in game 4 had Yadi not got lucky and tied it up then sac flied out in 9th. They got lucky for sure against a not so good team

I wonder if Scott Boras and Bryce Harper stayed up to watch the game?

I bet Scott Boras did. He represents the next NL MVP, Anthony Rendon. Harper not so much.

Yikes a blowout to end all blowouts!!ATLANTA (AP) ó The St. Louis Cardinals scored a record 10 runs in the first inning of the decisive Game 5 of the NL Division Series against the Atlanta Braves. The biggest first inning in MLB playoff history stunned the crowd at SunTrust Park on Wednesday and put the Braves on course to tie a big league record with their 10th straight postseason first-round loss.

Then !

What the St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves Game 5 lacked in drama, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals more than made up for. After 10 hard-fought innings, the Nationals completed their comeback and stunned the Dodgers with a 7-3 victory to advance to the National League Championship Series for the first time since the franchise moved to Washington. The role of hero belonged to a familiar face at Dodger Stadium. Howie Kendrick, who spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons in a Dodgers uniform, drilled a go-ahead grand slam against Joe Kelly in the 10th inning to secure the win for Washington.Washington will now meet the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS starting Friday night.
The drama really picked up in the eighth inning. Thatís when Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto hit back-to-back home runs against Clayton Kershaw to tie the game for Washington. Kershaw entered as a reliever in the seventh inning and thwarted two-out rally by striking out Adam Eaton. He wasnít nearly as effective in his second inning, which will undoubtedly continue fueling the narrative of Kershaw coming up short in October.

The 106-win Dodgers fell short again. There are so many directions where fingers can be pointed after Game 5. Whether it be an offense that produced only two hits after the second inning. Or Clayton Kershaw's latest postseason disappointment. Or Dave Roberts' decision to roll with Joe Kelly over closer Kenley Jansen for two innings in a tie game. Yahoo Sports

Another giant disappointment for the Dodgers !! I love it !!

I don’t see either American League team having any trouble at all with winning it all.

I grew up in Washington DC watching the Senators, so never became a big baseball fan.

I wonder if anyone saw St Louis sticking 12 on Atlanta by the second inning, or Foltynewicz not getting out of the first...in fact only getting one out in the first.

I used to watch a fair amount of baseball but haven't watched lately. I do think it would be cool if the Rays win tonight. Before I was a Rays fan I was a Braves fan, and it is cool that they were in the playoffs.

So it begins tonight in the NLCS: The Nats at the St. Louis Cardinals
https://www.nbcsports.com/washington...-happened-2012

St. Louis is often in, so I'll root for the Nats, especially since the "Hairdo" is gone.

And of course the Yanks over the Stros tomorrow night !

I like this prediction, but I'm not so sure about it.

Who would have thunk the Cards would have home field advantage in the NLCS let alone advance to it. Should be good baseball coming up in both leagues. Iím officially rooting for the Nats. Suck it Bryce Harper.

Well, the Cubbies had not won since 1908, so the bad luck Schleprock heartstrings were easily plucked.

Shocked? Cards won the Central. Nats are the wild card winners in a smaller market. Had to go through the reigning NL Champs. Lost their ďsuperstarĒ to free agency. Attendance was down. Iím rooting for the Nats because THEY are the underdogs. Are cards fans that lonely that they need even more fans via the sympathy vote?

You guys are not hurting for fans. Please clap.
