For a few years we had a tv antenna on the roof that rotated using a remote control dial.
Yah but if you were poor and couldn't afford one of those fancy high tech gadgets then all you had was one of those stupid, useless little wire loop antennas on the back of the TV set. Oh this is bringing back fun memories.........

I wouldn’t mind seeing rask go all billy smith on them either.
Good one Jersus. Another classic moment in NHL history! He was a damn good goalie in his day too.

Since we are getting all "Old School" here, this is 4 minutes well spent:

I don't know how many times I did the Bobby Orr dive in the back yard rink my father built and watered every night... I am one of the thousands of desendants off those teams. Even now, every week when I walk into Daley Rink in Newton for Old Guy Hockey I still think of those teams. I hope my Championship spoiled children have the same wonderful memories 40 years from now. Some how I doubt it.

When men were men. That is a bit unfair but still, no helmets, goalie with a piece of plastic on his face and if you compare their age appearance, they looked much older than the kids playing today. I haven't been to Daly rink in years. My wife grew up skating there.

And now the pussies at NHL HQ are suspending Sundqvist over that game 2 hit on Grzelcyk.

When a guy gets hit on the numbers and gets a concussion, that's a pretty standard consequence today.

goalie with a piece of plastic

and I will very quietly say that at one point during my life people scoffed at the first guys to wear those.
Not that I'm an old bastard or anything.
Last thing I did just before I retired was quit playing in the OFL (old fart league) and got my teeth fixed one last time.

And the irony in the history of the goalie mask making its introduction into the NHL is that it was actually something that was frowned upon. I don't know what state of mind these people were at LOL! The only reasonable explanation is that it's hard to understand simply because it was a different time, and a different time had different mindsets. Imagine taking a slapshot to the face, then continuing to play until the whistle blew!? Then wanting to wear a mask from then on only to be told by the NHL commissioner that you couldn't!!!!!! And the rest of the league laughs at you. But again, the irony is that behind all that machismo and frowning upon things that were considered sissy-like or "not part of the game" were actually, silently encouraged and probably a relief when they eventually were allowed and safety actually became a concern loool.
