If I go without socks in the heat they will smell at the end of the day.

This is the only major drawback of these shoes - but I just rinse them and air dry, and all is OK. Sometimes I will wear bikini socks and that stops the smell.

Fantastic shoes overall, especially if you have back problems

After wearing Xtratufs boots, hard for me to go back to anything else.

I did a quick review on them:

Someone already mentioned them, but the XtraTuff Riptides are great boat shoes

You can get a free pair of flip flops when you purchase a pair of Fin 3, H2o or sailfin shoes. Use code Bonusflips.

I wanted them so I tried a pair ... or at least tried to get my foot into one. Impossible if you have wide feet.

Xtra tuff short boots and xtra tuff riptides for boat shoes that drain.

Someone mentioned Astral. I purchased a pair of their M's Loyak...who names these things? Their are advertised as a minimalist low volume, high performance shoe. They are a bitc# to put on, the elastic tongue didn't stretch very well and it took brute strength to get them on. BTW I do not have high arches. What I do have are old man's sore feet plus a corn; and once I got theses suckers on; they are the lightest, most comfortable boat shoe I have worn. So if I can get past the initial fight putting them on without a coronary my feet will be good.
