Default Is flfishingspots.com legit?

Hello, I would like to buy deep drop spots for the upper keys from flfishingspots.com and I just wondered if anyone has purchased spots from them before?
How do I know I am not buying random flat sea floor coordinates? Can anyone vouch or had good luck with using their spots?

Thanks

Yes, they are legit, and they have a lot of numbers supposedly mostly collected from retired commercial and charter captains. Whether the numbers are still good or were ever that good is something you will have to figure out.

Well, I just purchased the Crystal River to Tarpon springs and the Tampa data/chip. Ask me in a few months how good they are.

Any follow-up from those that have purchased? I’m also interested.

I guess all of us in Florida who fish regularly would like to know how accurate they are. Keep us informed

I was curious about this a while back too, that and fishingchips.com are both cheap and since I know my area would know if some of the spots were BS or not

How good do you think those spots will be once everyone spends their few $'s to buy them, then punches the numbers into their GPS and autopilot? I hate seeing stuff like this because those lighter fished spots leave at least a few fish uncaught to breed the next generation. Just short term profiteering without much thought for the future IMO.

A significant (maybe even the majority) amount of my catches trolling and bottom fishing are at the 2 most known spots in my area and one of them is a wreck so that's obviously a super small spot

This^^^^^^^^ all day

And, how they acquired these numbers along with how many times they have been repetitively sold.

I have watched with modern electronics the number/position grab. To just be sold from a guy with no skin in the game.

There are several spots that showed up recently with descriptions/labeled of interesting areas on several of these sites. Radar pings that didn't figure out we were sleeping and drifting over sand bottom..

They will damn sure charge you for those locations as interesting areas.

And yes, I watched a guy do it opening day of Gag season this year. Ran all day in perfect weather with a HD radar spinning and not a single rod on his boat or another angler. It was so obvious I'm surprised someone didn't run him down and kick his ass. He was well within his rights as far as that goes so take that for what it's worth.

Bring on the hate of ownership to spots. Then, bring on the hate that these asses are selling when you can't catch shit off of your newly purchased coordinates that they have sold to hundreds.

Go ahead and buy this shit from a guy sitting on his couch and could care less if you ever caught another fish or how he turned idiots into experts.

As to OP, I have no for sure knowledge as to where any of these folks get the info/coordinates and how they get them.

I can only guess.

I think like you on this except that their is nothing that we can do to stop it. It will result in more regulations and more freedoms lost.

I found ALL my spots with a stretch 30 and a #2,3,4 size planet with and jig or storm swim bait at the end , and hundreds of gallons of gas. I studied the bottom machine when I caught grouper. ONlY to have some jackass run a hundred yards away from me with him radar on and get my spot.

I don't think anyone needs to get that close with good radar. if you think that is bad, just imagine if the powers that be require you to have an AIS transponder to reef fish.

What would you think about the guy doing this and then putting all these spots he is collecting on a chip and selling them?

Like I posted before on this subject I watched a guy with radar on the opening of gag season running around all day and I never saw him stop to fish. Nor did he have any fishing equipment displayed. It was a target rich environment as opening day was slick calm and on a Saturday.

Ain't nothing you can do about it but it sure makes me wonder.

Took me damn near 40 years of burning time and fuel to get the book I have now. It would take one heck of a bunch of money for me to sell them.

If I did sell them I wouldn't give up the best ones anyways.

I hate it, But like you said nothing can be done about. I’m not sell or giving a single one of my numbers to anyone. Like you it took me a Long time to get the number I have.
