Yes its me, gave up the big ones and now run an 82 viking. Much nicer with less crew, less drama and much more fishing. Good Luck on your trip. I was out with the big fella last week fishing(I'm in NZ right now on holiday) and he was telling me about your plans

Meant to be heading away Sat evening for 5 days. You seen the forecast? First cyclone of the season is due!!! Don't mind fishing in 30knts but not liking the prospect of punching north for a day into a 40knt+ northerly and then getting stuck swinging on the pick for a few days. Gusting 50knts at the Hen & Chicks forecast for Sunday at the moment but maybe a travelling window on Sat. Now on an 82ft Viking I guess it wouldn't be such a challenge as it would be on lil ol Tagit. Just wait and see what that Cyclone does for now.

Had to chuckle the other day. We were anchored up in Tom Bowling bay next to a ........... 82 Viking. Nice looking ride. Probably the only one down here I imagine. Trip was hard. One nice Stripy around 280 - 300lbs and spent a lot of time Snapper fishing. Fish have mostly gone down the West Coast this season it seems and the East coast is patchy. The occasional hot bite, but not consistent like normal. Hopefully we lose the La Nina next year and get the normal currents back.
