Default 5 year anniversary trip in May, recommendations?

My wife and I are looking to make a trip to somewhere nice for our anniversary that is tropical with plenty to do, and especially good blue water fishing with a short run on a charter at least once, but more than likely 2 trips. Looking to catch any of the following; dolphin, marlin, sails, wahoo etc. I fish the northern gulf and catch plenty of tuna, but we have long runs that mostly require overnight trips on my boat, and my wife has never made a trip that far. We’re looking to spend about 5-7k including travel. I’ve never done an all inclusive, so really don’t know much about how that works out. Just looking for recommendations with hopefully experience. Btw, we went to the Bahamas in our boat last year in July, and have spent a fair amount of vacations in Florida and here in Alabama. So looking for for something a little better and different. Thanks in advance. Tight lines.

Go to Costa and fish with John's guys in Quepos 3 or 4 days , it won't blow your budget . Stay at the Mariposa , your wife will enjoy it . Fishing will be good that time of year . Plenty of billfish , YFT and dolphin around . Go check out Manuel Antonio when you aren't fishing .

I just booked our 10 year anniversary at Cheeca Lodge in Islamorada. IMO the tropical trips are good hardcore trips for the boys but if you want more of a romantic trip I suggest the Keys.

Your wife will love a back country fishing trip as one of the trips if she's never zipped through the Everglades in a skiff. And you have a great variety of offshore trips possible. Plus you have all the dining, a day shopping in Key West, and more... Just makes for a better couples vacation IMO.

Remember - it's "her" anniversary not yours. LOL.

If she want's the CR or Panama type thing more power to you!!!!

Can't beat Costa Rica and x2 on Quepos.

Quepos is a little hike from Los Suenos but doable (1.5 hours one way). I would try to stay a little closer to Quepos (no clue on the decent hotels there though) or if you have a higher budget stay in Los Suenos, but more then likely your charter will be heading South quite a few miles to fish off Quepos.

We stayed outside of Jaco in a VRBO, but the wife wasn't all that thrilled due to the plumbing situation and would not go back unless we stay at Los Suenos or the like with "American" plumbing features. I.E. you can flush toilet paper down the toilet. Crazy what we take for granted stateside. We fished with Quepos 3 of the 7 days and I highly recommend them.
