So the spread I had out today is just not cool? A Tiagra 12, Marquesa 30, and a Tyrnos 12 , all on different rods, gets no style points? Oh well, I had to go home early when the fish bag was full , anyway

A disappearing "art". Symmetry. Can't have 3 reels on one side and 2 on the other. Fully loaded chair. Great picture.

And here is proof of one who doesn't get it. The best thing you could have done was just not comment. It is clear you don't get it but just had to make a comment.

Walk down the charter dock at Sunset Marina in Ocean City MD and it becomes clear that it is a contest of whose d**k is bigger! Not saying I did not participate!

Default Oh, I get it.

Just not shallow enough to subscribe to it? No, thats a bit harsh, after all, if you've spent several hundred thou on the boat that has everything, why not spend another 20 to have full style points? But to say " those who get it" implies some kind of superiority, the cool kids. I hope the OP was as tongue in cheek as my reply was?

Normally I would not respond to a negative posting about something I posted for the specific target audience, But, Style has nothing to do with money, it has to do with the pride in the visual satisfaction of a well organized presentation. That being the terminal tackle, the bait spread or the storing of the equipment used . Mates and Captains all over the world appreciate a well organized presentation.
That was the message, and that is why it states in the title "for those that get it".
Defense rests.

If you saw my rig I would Most certainly be in the “don’t get it”
category. But when you saw my consistent catches, you’d realize that it doesn’t matter.
I guess there are two trains of thought here. Tools and trinkets.

Nice looking setup,by the way.

I get it. It drives me insane to not have the rods symmetrical in the holders pretty much at any time. Itís not about how much money you spend but taking pride in whatever you have. When returning from offshore I will even put the reel handles in the same location most times. Being sloppy makes me feel unprepared and lazy. No reason why the boat shouldnít look as good as it can. If you look good, you feel good.

Get it too. We also are very "attention to detail" oriented. Especially when leaving or returning to port. All rods need to be symmetrical. And if you have a mix of reels, they also need to be symmetrical in the rocket launchers. Only way to go when you are running a rig that shows pride of ownership.

Oh yeah, and when carrying set ups off the boat, don't dare to put more than one in each hand, or you won't be asked to join us again. I cringe when I see guys walking the docks with several set ups in each hand. Even our TLD's have to be carried one at a time.

It's all a part of the ritual. As long as it doesn't take away from your overall enjoyment or that of others', who cares?

I spend a ton more time day dreaming than fishing, so if I'm getting ready for a big trip, all doubles will be same length, all leaders, all rigs, laid out nicely on the boat.... Now if we are short-handed as usual and the bite is on out there, everything goes to shit pretty quickly as far as style and organization, but it's nice to leave the dock and inlet with your ducks in a row.

You almost get it
Spin your handles so they are all in the down position
It's all about attention to detail!

I get it, great lakes charter guy here. Everything on my boat matches. All rods and reels that are used for the same purposes are matching.

It's certainly not a "measuring" contest for us, it simply makes everything easier. Everything works the same so it is very repeatable to reset a presentation that is working. I know where all my presentation sets in relation to itself, making it far easier to create effective spreads.

Now the reels we and rods we choose could be considered a measurement... Lol

Nice display!
