Are those big catches, 7 of 11and 10 for 12, high speed caught fish or slower with rigged baits?

Seems like the fishing is getting a little better with a whole bunch of big fish being caught. Recently, CELLFISH was 10 for 10 with the 2 big ones at 93 and 59. 2 days ago, on the 28th, the following fish were weighed in the Wahoo Shootout currently going on.....76, 76, 70, 67, 67, 65, 59, 54. The 2 76 pounders were caught on the JODIE LYNN and the pictures below. CONGRATS!

Conch House Tournament in 2 weeks. Over the last few years, this has been a fun tournament and getting to be known as a big fish tournament. Come fish with us.

Did I help? Good job. We get spoiled in NE Florida with big fish when no one should be disappointed by a 30-35 lber. Fish from 50 and up have become so common that we discount the smaller fish. I know they taste just as good.

Looking at the NE Florida Wahoo Shootout Leader Board(https://www.wahooshootout.com/leaderboard/)
The current top 10 boats have fished 21 days. In those 21 days of fishing, they caught the following:
11 50+ lb fish
9 60+ lb fish
7 70+ lb fish
1 80+ lb fish

Not to mention the numerous 70, 80 and a 93 lb fish for those that still have days to fish in that tournament. March may end up with a flurry of big fish caught and I personally hope a bunch of them get caught next weekend.

The Conch House Tournament is condensed into 2 fishing days, you choose 1. I think the last 2 years, the winner of this tournament caught fish that propelled them into the winners circle for the NE Florida Wahoo Shootout also. A nice 2 for 1. If you are looking for a fun tournament, a chance at big fish and big money.....come to the Conch House next weekend(March 14 - 16). Captains Meeting is the 14th and fishing is your choice, the 15th or 16th.

I think Saturday is going to be worse than the current forecast, can't have 20 knots out of the north and 3.3 feet IMHO. Friday looks funny but currently fishable.

***And I did. I was told last year it was on the same day as the TPC so they are doing the same this year. Sorry.
TPC was in May last year! Did they move the wahoo tournament from May to March? I don't think so.

I mis-quoted the Conch House. The wahoo tournament is the same day/weekend it has been. The TPC moved to the same date. The Conch House decided not to move their tournament that has been very successful because another event in another town moved theirs. Just one of those things. Last year 93 boats fished this tournament.

FYI, I start these threads each year to let people know about the tournament. I am not affiliated with the tournament in any way other than an interested observer and participant. If you have negative comments or need info, please contact the Conch House and discuss it with them. I would appreciate it if negative comments weren't posted here because it doesn't help the poster(remember, I don't have anything to do with the tournament so can't do anything to help) and it doesn't help the tournament. If you have a request, call the tournament director and discuss it with him. He is open for those discussions. Good luck this weekend!

Weather scared a lot of boats off which I don't completely understand with this forecast. Winds out of the south and 3' seas sure seems manageable. 52 boats in. Fishing starts tomorrow.
