Default Barracuda Cast Nets

I'm sold.

Ordered one using the 25% Cyber Monday discount. 10 foot, 1/4 inch mesh, 1.4 lb/foot. Got here this morning, free shipping. Silky smooth, opens better than any net I've ever thrown (I've owned 6 different nets, all 1/4 and 3/8 mesh, from 8-12 feet), I like the oversized horn, and transaction online was flawless. Comes in a cool bucket, too?

I'll be ordering a 3/8 from them soon with more weight per foot once they're in stock. Will update this post after I've fished it for a year to let everyone know how it holds up.

I got a 10ft over the summer and love it. It's so much better than most of the junk that's out there and worth a few extra bucks.

I've been throwing the 8' 3/8 version for the past year. By far a superior net compared to anything even close to it's price range. Only net that even comes close performance wise is a Tim Wade net. Net is still as soft as the day I got it.

Threw a 12’ 1/2” mesh all year here in NC. Boated more bait than a lot of guys. Just ordered a 12’ 3/4” today and looking forward to using that one next year.

Got a 10ft 3/8 1.6. Sinks fast and throws easy.
I skip the gym if I throw it a few times.

Curious as to what y'all owners have to say in regard to the rumor I keep hearing of them tearing easily? I haven't thrown one myself but I've heard that more than once. Something about the mesh being thin and that's what makes them throw nice, but as stated tear easier than others. Any one here experience that? They have some nice products and I'm all for supporting local business, just curious if the rumors are BS or if there's something to it.

I bought a 10’ 5/8” absolutely love it! Loads easy and throws easy. Using it here in N.C. been throwing it in the ocean on huge pogies in 12-30’ of water couldn’t be happier at this point. Can’t speak on tearing easy as I just use it for bait for king Mac fishing so not throwing it on structure that will cause it to tear but I will attest to the fact it will hold all two men can roll over the side of the boat lol

I'll update in a year. Don't have a frame of reference yet, but I'm hard on my gear, and fish at least 30-40 times a year. I will say, I've yet to have a net that I haven't hung up and torn. Just a side effect of using them where I normally get bait.

Nice. I was worried about the mono getting stiff. Good to know! Thanks for the heads up.

I picked up one of the Flats nets this summer and don't have any complaints so far. My heavier net is a Cracker from Calusa and it's been a good net as well.

I got a tear in mine. But it was my fault. It got hung on a screw and I was in a rush. I patched it up myself and you’d never know. The netting has stayed soft and limber since day one. I’ve thrown mine all year long and in the yard a bit. No other tears except that one.

Where did you hear these rumors?

Been throwing Barracuda for over a year now and am pretty active in the community and have not heard that.

I have 2 and love them, the customer service is stellar and they will go the extra miles to keep you happy and fishing. Can’t say enough about the customer service you get from Tara, Burton and the rest of the team plus you get a cast net that will perform like no other.

I also have 2 of their custom series nets and like them a lot.Very similar to Black Pearl. The only thing I would change would be thinner hand line.

While we are talking about them. I have a 12' 1/2" mesh black net if anyone is interest for sale. PM for details. I went with the bigger 3/4" mesh they recently added so don't need this one

Handline is a bit stiff, yeah. Should be an easy mod. Would be cool if they had the option for a custom leash! 1/4 or 3/8 braided dock line would probably be really nice.
