Default Rick's Reel Service

: Once again Rick hit it out of the park. Took a Shimano Charter special lever drag from a wimp to winner. replaced clunky gears, drag washers and handle.

Thanks Rick

That Shimano Charter Special is a favorite reel of mine. Have caught many big deep fish on it with too heavy a braid on it, still kicking. Was looking at mine this morning, and now I know where to send it to be refreshed.

Default A level of service that shouldn't go unmentioned

The test of a business is not whether problems arise (sooner or later they always do) but how they are dealt with.

I just had several reels serviced by Rick and I've got to say: he did great work, was fast and a pleasure to communicate with. What bumps in the road there were, were made to disappear.

Thanks Rick!

LOL, usually ends up Brian bringing them down. I'll be sure to join him next time. I think I was in the car once! He does love that lil baitcaster he bought from you.

I've got three with Rick at this moment. He is fantastic to deal with and the service is top notch!

So many other businesses could take a lesson or three from his operation.

What’s the turn around time on two reels Rick? I have two Tld 25’s that need upgraded drags and power handles?

Still have some gear rolling in here late...most of the rush is over the winter...but I am still close to three weeks for turnaround.

For anyone interested in a service...log onto my site, complete my contact form, and send to my address here in Brooksville Fl.

Keep in mind that I dont service everything nowadays. Most of what I dont service has to do with parts issues (Okuma) or they are just crappy, and the bills exceed the value (cheap Penn spinning reels). Or over the years I have found that when certain reels come in here the amount of time it takes to break down, service, assemble and make feel right is not worth what I can charge ( low profile baitcasters, many Daiwa spinning reels)

I will usually email you when I see the contact form pop up (its an E-form), again when your reels arrive and again as I am working on them. I usually wont call you unless there are problems or issues.

And that's the way it works, folks....

Thanks Rick. I've been searching around trying to piece the process together, so its great to hear the whole thing in one fell swoop straight from the horses mouth.

Went up to Rick's in Brooksville to pickup some of the reels that Rick recently serviced. There were 3 Avet HX 5/2s and 2 Accurates.

What a great job of servicing, in addition to them functioning correctly, the Avets looked like new as Rick managed to buff out some of the reel rash.

A big thumbs up to Rick for great work......
