Are these juvenile yellowfin?

Looking at this my guess is YF

Yep. bigeye and YF look very similar when juveniles, my guess on those would be YF.

They are very small. But so are his toenails.

the pectoral fins do not look scythe like is common on the YFT here in oz anyway

That's the hard life of a fisherman. This guy probably goes out 325 days a year in a 20 foot canoe with an engine and only uses hand line. This is Honduras and it's VERY rare to catch or see em. Still trying to get mine, don't care if it's 2 lbs or 200 at this point.

Yes , those are YFT . We got a couple of them the other day about half that size .

Those are YF for sure. Eyeballs don't get those lines on the belly when they die and YF do. Also big eye have a black edge to the finlets and these do not.
