Default Tackle/Gear disease

Does anyone else have it? It is so contagious I don't even need anything but anytime I go to Walmart or cruise eBay or the worst is the for sale section on here I am always buying something. Weather it be lures or reels or even misc stuff. There always seems to be something that I purchase and have to have all of a sudden. If it wasn't for PayPal and the internet my pockets would have alot more lining in them. So let's hear it I know I am not the only one.

I'm replacing complete sets of rods and reels every off season man, not that they need it, always upgrading I guess, or at least I tell my self. The gear I have handles the fish we catch up here no problems, but I replace anyway with something new. You know I'm looking at the possibility of moving back east, I've been doing nothing but getting my offshore list together...ew, that reminds me, gotta add outriggers to the list..

Oh yeah man... I know how this one goes!

I "HAVE TO HAVE" certain rods/reels/lures because I MIGHT fish for a certain species one day. Then the worst part is I have a legitimate bit of OCD because I want the same reels, with the same colored line and on the same rods.

I have the lure disease. I know I have over 500 and I have to put more fuel in my port tank to even the boat out because of them.

I have this bad, to the point that certain rods go in certain holders up top for storage. I can't run an odd rod.....

I have a fever....

I even check out the "tackle" isle at Target. It's more of a 4 foot section, but still need to check it out.

Man, I thought I was the only one. I bought a set of 5 rods from a guy and that 5th one is just kicking my ass. I just HAVE to mount a reel on it. But what? Then how to I run it? I don't have a center rigger, or a center rod holder.

Man I am getting ready to pay new prices for 2 used rods because I can't find them anywhere else but have to have a set of 6 and i have 4. I picked up a new tog rod while I was home been since the tackle shop had 2 rods guess what I have them both now. Like said earlier the struggle is real.

My buddies all make fun of me... They will put a rod in the "wrong" holder or throw one of my chartreuse jig heads in with all the red jig heads. I started matching up all my gear a few years ago when I noticed it seemed like if I was trolling with a mixed bag of reels... the biggest fish would hook up on the smallest combo. Or I hated having to buy line for 3 different size reels. It just made life easier.

But this time of year it gets real bad with lures/rigs. I will turn on the radio, grab a couple beers and start tying up rigs.

So... I used to have a penn 320 gt2. Trolled for striper with it. Then I came across a pair of used 320LDs. I loved those... but I hated the fact that they didnt match and there was always that goofy moment of looking for the lever on the star drag. So I cashed in all of them on a matching set of squalls... and then I started hunting bigger fish than squall 30s could handle, so then I needed some bigger reels, but I couldnt give up my smaller reels... and next thing you know I have 16 rod/reel combos.

Pix of the wife.

A good friend of mine claims I have a 'problem'. Of course he's probably got more gold reels than a mine could produce.

I don't know WHAT the OP is talkin bout though.
