Default Gulf fishing and sst's

Are SST's any help fishing the gulf(out of venice) this time of year for tuna?

The sst's look like crap! patchy water and poorly defined currents from what I see. A lot different from the gulf stream I am used to looking at.

Sst charts are pretty low on the list of telemetry I study for trip planning down here. Chlorophyll concentration, plankton density, altimetry all get more weight. The exception is winter, when I might start looking for water in the 68º range.
